gamit ko norton ,may nagsabi mabigat daw na gamiting anti-virus sa com yun :confused:ano ba nga mas maganda balak kong magpalit next yr.kasi bagong bili lang nito 2007.

ako walang anti-virus, Mac kasi. Pero yung sa isang windoze pc ko, Mcafee yung naka-install.

If you want an anti virus that works in the background without affecting your PCs performance, you should consider Symantec Corporate Edition, Its latest virus definition works as an anti-spyware also.

Maraming users ang nagsasabi na nagpapabagal ng PC ang Norton. Pero, may nagsasabi na ok na ang 2007 version ng Norton. (Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala :confused:)
Balak ko ring magpalit ng AntiVirus at binabalak ko ay alin man sa mga top-rated softwares (http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews .com/) this year (BitDefender 10, Kaspersky at McAfee).

ako po norton internet security.. im using this brand since 2003.. ok nman so far ang pc ko nde naman nasira since aug 2003.. mejo bumagal nga lang po kasi medyo napupuno na ng kung anu-anong files pc ko :D at mejo outdated na rin po kasi hehehe

I usually have 2 or 3 computers and always use different anti-viurs softwares, different mailers, different browsers to make sure.
All of them are Windows machines.
Perhaps someone will say "Why don't you use Mac? It's virus-free!":D
Or someone will say "Libre ang Linux.":D
There is no logical answer to these questions.:confused:
Using Windows means using anti-virus softwares.
Perhaps I like using anti-virus softwares.:p
Perhaps God wants us to be Windows users.

None. I use Ubuntu Linux. I just got tired of Windows Viruses, Malware, Spyware,
Trojans etc....Tired of updating and buying new virus updates! And guess what?
I don't have to Defrag anymore.:)

Thanks sa posting nyo! Marami palang gumagamit ng AVG at Norton. I think I'll switch to AVG one of these days.

AVG and AVAST are good free a/v programs. I have used AVG-free for the last few years with no problems. 100% free and regular updates every few days, at least. :)

BitDefender is a rising star in the Windows Antivirus arena and also has BitDefender Linux Edition (http://www.bitdefender.com/PRODUCT-63-en--BitDefender-Linux-Edition.html) available which is freeware although not GPL.
You can install it on pc linux os using Kpackage (it's pretty painless). It's a command line virus scanner so there's no GUI... :)

I've heard numerous antivirus suites for Linux. Well, it's sad to hear that Linux is becoming more vulnerable like Windows or should we be happy because Linux is gaining popularity to be targeted by these kinds of threats.
Well, I just missed those old days in the early 90's where Linux is a very simple OS installed only using FDs, and free from these threats.

Free AVG ang gamit sa main PC ko at mahusay naman basta ayos ang pag install (through safe mode ika nga...) bago iconnect sa net. Sa Linux ay wala akong problema at di naman kailangan ng anti-virus.

Meron din naman available Anti Virus sa MAC , hinde na ba talaga kailangan ang anti virus pag MAC..
...malapit kna mabili yong MAC ko ...:D but linux is still the best!

..kase kung kelan naman ako nag-install ng Spy ware at anti-virus tsaka naman nagloko
yun PC ko...nakalimutan kong mag-install,pero ni minsan walang problema,
nung naalalang iinstall tsaka naman nagkaproblema???

Ok ang Linux pero medyo hindi user friendly katulad ng Windows. Mahusay ang Linux kaya lang kailangan ay maging medyo "geeky" ka para mapatakbo mo ng fully ito. Malamang ay kakailanganin mong paglaruan at mag type ng konti sa command. Yun nga lang ay masaya ang Linux at sky is the limit sa pagpapatakbo ng programs. Maraming versions ng Linux. Meroong medyo user friendly at meroon din namang "nakakatakot". Bago pa lang ako sa Linux at talagang nahihirapan pa rin ako at pag di ko na alam ang ginagawa ko ay balik na lang ulit sa more friendly OS. Ang kagandahan ay free ang Linux at marami kang maaaring pagpilian style yun nga lang ay tulad ng nasabi ko na medyo kailangang medyo "geeky" ka para masayahan ka sa Linux. Kung binabalak mong mag subok ng Linux ay pwede kang mag download ng Linux OS at i-burn mo sa CD gamitin mo yung CD sa start-up at Linux na ang OS mo at pag gusto mong bumalik ulit sa dati mong OS ay tanggalin mo na lang yung Linux CD at start-up ulit at balik Windows ka ulit. Syempre pwede mong i fully install ang Linux pero subok muna (trial ika nga) para may choice ka kung trip mong gamitin ang Linux.

I've installed and run the new version of AVG which is 7.5. I compared the performance of my PC and internet connection speed while AVG is active, and while my previous antivirus software (Network Associates) is active. There is no difference in PC performance and my internet connection speed remains the same (average 25Mbps at peak hours).
So, I would say OK ang AVG. I uninstall ko ang Network Associates ko kapag no problem ang AVG these weekends.

Base on 48 votes from our TF, the top 3 antivirus are (1) Norton : 25%, (2) AVG : (18%) and (3) McAfee : (14%).
Baka meron pa sa inyo ang di pa nag-vote, place your vote now.
Hindi makaboto mga Mac user. Wala kasing gumagamit ng anti-virus e. :D

Meron namang libreng anti-virus software tulad ng Avast! 4 Home Edition (http://avast.com/i_kat_207.php). Bakit hindi na lang 'yon ang gamitin mo?

Tama ka dyan zashmbee. Virus pattern files were created by Filipinos at TrendLabs in Libis, QC. And it was PH Trend Micro that sent me here to assist JP Trend Micro. :) Kaya lahat kayo.. please support Filipino product. Besides, all major industries here uses Trend Micro especially our headquarters is located here in Maynds Tower - Shinjuku.

Zone Alarm po gamit namin ok naman siya pero by next month papalitan ko ng PANDA. Ito kasi ni-refer ng kaibigan ko, if di maganda lagot siya sa akin hehehe :D :D
