based on my experience, tanungin nila about your profile...bihira sila mag english kaya prepare ka sa pakikinig sa kanila dahil nihonggo ang gamit.sa mensetsu(pag apply)
tatanungin din nila kung may experience(keiken) ka na sa job na gusto mong pasukan.. and the most important thing, tatanungin ka nila about your knowledge in japanese language
;kung good ka ba sa conversation, writing hiragana , katakana and basic kanji. :) goodluck sau

Salamat yukio_chris!
Ano ba sinasabi sa kanila pag pasok mo sa room for interview?
"shitsurei shimasu" lang ba pwede na?
baka may alam kayo key words na pwede gamitin nila like chousho (Strong points), keiken (experience) etc. ;)

Hi ritek:)

usually , importante ang aisatsu(greeting) before anything else...like
ohayou gozaimasu, watashiwa_______tomo ushimasu, yoroshiku onegai shimasu.:)
tsaka look the person in the eye habang nag uusap at ininterview ka okay?

Salamat sa replies! :) Laking tulong... sige ready ko na 1 to 2 mins ko na jiko shokai and may greeting na rin ako.. Ayos!
dumadami na rin words/questions: :D
shiboudoki = objective
kokuseki = Nationality
chousho = strong point
tansho = weak point
shikaku = qualifications
rirekisho = resume
ibang words na baka alam nyo equivalent..like expected salary/desired salary.
nasa IT kasi ako and yung ina-applyan ko medyo mataas na position and yung company kilala so dapat talaga professional ang dating.
Kaya medyo formal talaga tong interview and in Japanese daw kasi one of the requirements is knowledge in Nihongo.
Baka may mga sample pa kayo na Q&A in Japanese for interview... or words na nagamit sa inyo in interview .....Salamat!!!! :D

I have experienced numerous successfull interview with both Japanese and foreign companies. They have their differences but, it seems you are applying for Japanese company I would concentrate my answers on this issue.
1. Technical questions
The interviewer will be consist of the Jinji (IR) and Technical people (those who you would work directly). These people have read your cv a couple of times and are familiar with everything you have written. So, they would only ask a few questions regarding your technical skills. Which is mainly an issue regarding your experience and the questions are generally basics (this is the opposite of foreign companies, they ask tricky technical questions).
2. Attitude questions
After the technical questions, most of the time is spent questioning you to analyze your attitude. Mainly, how you hold on to stress situations, problematic colleagues, achieving the goals of your group as a leader/manager, your future career plan, what you could share in this company, your assets in the present company (writing numerous patents, speaking at int'l technical conference...), etc.
3. Work condition related
These sets of questions are quite standard. Are you willing to work overtime or on weekends to assist your team in finishing the project? Go on business trips within Japan or outside Japan? Why are you changing job?
On your 1st interview, if they feel that they want you they would ask how much you are earning or how much you would want to land a job there. But, don't be tempted to say to them how much you want....just say your present salary. You still have the next interview to discuss more about the salary. And remember, the first person who voice out the salary tends to be the loser at the end. So, wait for them to offer you a bigger amount (on the 2nd or 3rd interview).
Hope these helps.
Good luck.

Thanks micheal_jp... about the salary thing... I was often asked about my expected salary and just told them higher than what I'm earning now but sometimes they are really eager to know. At this point, I just tell them a ball park figure.
The attitude questions are difficult esp if you have to answer in Japanese... yaiks! :eek: Really have to think about the answers for these in Nihongo!
Baka pwede tips sa pagsagot kahit one liner lang for attitude questions... :D
Yung tipong mapapa-wow..
Work condition related looks ok...
Salamat uli!

Hi!:)
But about salary:
Don't expect so much...kasi I know some filipino who has a professional skill na nag-aaply sa mga japanese company na medyo discrimanated sila sa salary.
Di tulad sa mga hapon almost same as one month salary o higit pa.
O sige...Gambatte Kudasai!!!:)

Hi Ritek-san
be prepared most of the interview in Japanese are group interview mean more than one person ang nag tatanong sayo..
good luck!

Most common misconception specially for interviews in Japan is that - unless you are applying for a position that requires splendid Japanese skills, Your Japanese employers would not expect you to speak near native nihongo skills. So sometimes, it simply helps to make it known that you are still grasping but trying your best to learn...
Goodluck!

Galing ng mga tips! Thanks!
Basahin ko and explain ko sa sarili ko yung resume pero in Nihongo! Ayos! :)
Tanggal pressure konti... :D
Pero ok na rin siguro alam mo i-express sarili mo in Japanese para maayos and ma-iimpress mo sila sa mga sagot mo.

hi ritek!
aside sa mga cnabi nila, might as well magprepare ka rn kapag tinanong ka nila regarding your strong and weak points. Un pointer, once u state your weak point i-end mo un sentence such that magagawa mong positive ang weak point mo. goodluck ne! balitaan mo kami after ng interbyu mo :)

Paki-specify kung anong klaseng mataas na position. Dahil kung team leader, manager ang aaplyan mo you'll be handling Japanese subordinates thus, you'll need expertise in Japanese language (reading, writing & speaking). Because a small mistake of higher position is crucial to the company.

Just gone to two interviews in the past 2 weeks...
Tama lahat ang sinabi nyo regarding questions they might asked.
Basically more on experience lang.
I'm set to have other interviews soon.
Parang interview kunwari pero in Japanese. Buti na lang ginawa ko yon! :D
Hope to get a job which is really suited for me here in Japan. I'll keep you guys posted para matulungan ko din ibang may mga interview esp in IT.

yung binigay na questions ni ms. aviationlady are the basic set of questions na madalas maririnig sa mga interviews. depende sa klase ng trabaho na inaaplayan, further questions would most likely be specific to the job you are applying for.
ano pong klaseng trabaho ang plano ninyong aplayan?
