[Skin Doc]

Hello Again Fellow TF People,

I have been in hybernation from TF for about a year now and just got back. My apologies. It was a great year though and I could not complain with the things that made me busy.

Anyway, as a comeback, I am starting this new thread so that all your questions about dermatology and skin will be addressed. Napansin ko kasi na marami tayong concerns sa skin kaya magandang ma-consolidate natin. May mga posts din akong di nasagot before and I will try to go back to them and post my replies. I will also try to make different threads on the topics that were most comonly asked in this forum para hindi labo-labo ang topics natin. Para sa topics na may existing threads na, then I will just add there.

Looks like a tall order for me, huh? I'm actually a little slow in computers so pasensiya na kung it will take a little more time for me to answer them. Slowly, but surely right?

Anyway, congratulations to Timog Forum on a job well done. Keep up the good work!

Ang glycolic peel ay isang type ng chemical skin peel at ang diamond peel naman ay isang type ng microdermabrasion sa gumagamit ng diamond crystals and suction. pareho silang ginagamit sa superficial peeling ng skin.

Para sa acne scars, masmainam ang glycolic acid peeling in general, pero depende ito sa depth ng scar. Kung minsan, combination therapy ang ginagawa dito gaya ng dermal fillers na nag-aangat ang mga depressed scars.

Wrinkles are the effect of prolonged exposure to the sun. So simple lang naman ang pag avoid ng wrinkles: avoid exposure to the sun. We can do that by using sun screen lotions, etc. Effective creams naman for wrinkles are those that contain glycolic acid.

Ang mga pekas ay pwedeng magfade o mawala din sa pagtagal ng panahon. Kung gusto mong mawala siya ng masmaaga, pwede mong gamitan ng mga whitening products, sabon, lotion, etc. Maaari ka ring uminom ng whitening pills kung gusto mo. Ingat lang sa mga brand ng gamot na iinumin mo. Last but not the least, kailangan mong mag sunblock para hindi ito mag-darken.:)

Meron tayong mga pwedeng ipahid na gamot para ma-refine o ma-improve ito pero up to a certain limit lamang. You may not achieve the result you want or expect, pero may mga procedures na ginagawa para maimprove ito, gaya ng diamond microdermabrasion. :)

Im experiencing hair loss po kasi and scaling of the scalp since I was still pregnant until now that 14 mos. old na yong baby ko... Ive tried to changed shampoo many times and had used a lot of dandruff treatments already, and yet, still never ceases:( ... Just this month, I was alarmed of noticing na ang laki na pala ng ininipis ng hair ko! Hindi po kya ako tuluyang makalbo nito?:D Naku! wag naman!:eek:
Ive been surfing the net for quite a long time already trying to find solution with my hair & scalp problem... Yan lang po kya kong gawin since Ive no time to visit po kasi a dermatologist during my stays in philippines, tsaka when Im still pregnant, I asked my OB already if my pregnancy has connection w/ my hair loss? She said, maaari daw, because most women daw having hormonal imbalance during pregnancy, maybe isa yon sa dahilan(tama po ba pagkakatanda ko?)... The problem po, malaki na baby ko pero mas lalo yatang lumala hair loss ko lalo na since dumating ako dito sa japan...
On my surfing... I found this answers;

Causes of temporary hair loss include:

Medication - Drugs used to treat cancer, blood thinners, antidepressants and high blood pressure medications, as well as birth control pills and high doses of vitamin A, may cause hair loss.
Diet - Too little protein and too little iron in your diet can lead to hair loss.
Stress or illness - You may begin losing hair one to three months after a stressful situation, such as major surgery. High fevers, severe infections or chronic illnesses can result in hair loss.
Childbirth - You may lose large amounts of hair within two to three months after delivery.
Alopecia areata - A condition in which hair loss occurs only in certain areas, resulting in hair loss patches the size of a coin or larger.
Thyroid disease - An overactive or under active thyroid can cause hair loss.
Ringworm - If this fungal infection occurs on your scalp, it can cause small patches of scaling skin and some hair loss.

Alin po kya sa mga yan ang cause ng scalp problem ko? Is it the reason po kaya why Im experiencing severe hair loss? Sana po mabigyan nyo ko ng magandang advise since di pa ko maka-visit sa Derma dito sa Japan... I cant speak and understang nihongo po kasi...

May mga tao na sobrang nagda dry ang skin dahil pwedeng namana nila ito. Madalas, may history ng hika sa pamilya. Bukod sa mga produktong ginagamit natin para di magdry ang balat, kailangan din na i-limit ang paghilamos ng mukha sa 2-3 beses sa isang araw, huwag gumamit ng maiinit na tubig na pang hilamos, huwag mag-iiscrub ng mukha, at parating mag sunblock. May mga pinapagamit akong produkto pero dito lang sa Pilipinas nabibili at nakukuha lamang sa mga certified dermatologists dito. Kung interested ka dito, you can send me a PM for the details.

Ang iyong na research, lahat pwedeng mag cause ng hair loss. Kailangan ka talagang makita ng dermatologist para masabi kung alin most likely ang cause ng iyong hair loss. Ang dermatology kasi, napaka-visual. Kailangan makita muna namin para malaman natin ang dapat gawin.

Kung di ka makakapagpatingin diyan, kailan most probably ang balik mo dito?

Ang mga ginagamit kong whitening pills ay from U.S. din. Glutathione ito na 500mg na may kasamang alpha-lipoic acid and vitamin C. Tried and tested na itong brand na dini-dispense ko and highly effective as I have seen in all my patients that have taken these. Marami na kasing lumalabas na glutathione but a lot of them are not that effective.

Doc tungkol rin naman sa balat ito eh magtatanong na ako...Eh doc bakit ba nangingitim ang balat sa pwet o sa kili-kili? May pampaputi pa ng pwet? hehehe serious na tanong ko yan Doc...ang ganda nga at matambok pero maitim naman hay...uyyyyyy dami nag-iisip na maitim ang pwet ko ngayon at kili-kili...di naman masyadow...pero marami akong friend na talagang problema din yan..kaya Doc..HELF!!!

Anyway, may mga tao talaga na medyo may mga pigmentation sa area na yun lalo na kung mahilig ka magscrub ( lalo kasi napapalala ang pangingitim) at kung medyo naggain ka ng weight.
Makakatulong kung di mo mascrub ang affected areas and to lose weight if naggain ka. Meron din tayong pwedeng ipahid na mga gamot, mga whitening products para mas mapabilis and pagimprove nito. You can also take whitening capsules once a day as well.

Sori for replying just now. Ang whiteheads ay part ng acne o pimples kung tawagin. Ito ay dahil sa hormonal changes( pag puyat, nagkakamenstrual period,etc), namamana at may kinalaman din sa mga products na ginagamit natin(kung mahilig ka maggel o mousse sa buhok).
Hindi ito mawawala sa mga moisturizer. Ang kailangan mo ay gamot para sa pimples. Ito usually ay nabibili mo sa mga dermatologists o sa mga drugstores. kailangan mo ng prescription nito.
Ang basic na dapat mo gawin ay magcleanse ng face with a mild facial wash twice a day(wag lalagpas ng 3x a day kasi lalong magiging oily skin mo), huwag mo tirisin ang mga pimples at magsunblock everyday. :)

I am glad that you made this thread. I think I have something on my skin that really made me feel very uncomfortable. It really have shakenmy self-confidence heh he he he . . . but could I consult with you about it? I already have consulted with a Japanese skin doctor and he said that it is not a problem. It is normal. He was surprise why I have them just right now. He said that normally white heads on the arms come out when a person is in his teens. But it has been bothering me since I came to Japan. I don't have them back in the Philippines. I have tiny little white/black rashes on both my upper arms.

In my professional experience, I have not encountered creams that really can enlarge the breasts. Ang alam ko talagang way ng pag enlarge ng breasts ay through surgery. But please beware of those who do breast injections. They say its collagen but its actually silicone oil. Kung magpapa-enlarge din kayo ng breasts, I suggest you do breast implants.

In my professional experience, I have not encountered creams that really can enlarge the breasts. Ang alam ko talagang way ng pag enlarge ng breasts ay through surgery. But please beware of those who do breast injections. They say its collagen but its actually silicone oil. Kung magpapa-enlarge din kayo ng breasts, I suggest you do breast implants.

Sori for the very late reply. Medyo naging busy lang.
Anyway, may mga tao talaga na medyo may mga pigmentation sa area na yun lalo na kung mahilig ka magscrub ( lalo kasi napapalala ang pangingitim) at kung medyo naggain ka ng weight.
Makakatulong kung di mo mascrub ang affected areas and to lose weight if naggain ka. Meron din tayong pwedeng ipahid na mga gamot, mga whitening products para mas mapabilis and pagimprove nito. You can also take whitening capsules once a day as well.

Tama ka na hindi na matatanggal ang stretch marks. However, may mga pwede tayo ipahid na creams para magimprove and itsura nito. Pwede din mag microdermabrasion to hasten the lightening of the marks.:)

kadalasan ay tinatanggal ang tahi after 4-5 days. ang maga naman ay depende sa tao. mayroon akong ipinapapahid sa mga pasyente ko para makatulong sa maga. sa presyo naman mukhang nabanggit na sa mga previous posts ng iba at mukhang ganun nga ang range ng procedure na yun.

pwede ka namang magtravel after a week kung gusto mo. pwede ring maligo pero bawal lang basain ang tahi for 4-5 days. tungkol naman sa mga bawal kainin, hindi totoong bawal ang malalansa. dalawa lang naman ang ipinapagbabawal ko - 1) lason, at 2) pagkaing di masarap. :).

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. You can try applying a mild corticosteroid cream, use mild soap, don't scrub her skin, don't apply alcohol and use lukewarm or tap water when giiving her a bath. Dapat presko din ang suot niya at pagpinawisan palitan agad ang damit niya.:):)

LASIK eye surgery is used to correct astigmatism, near-sightedness and far-sightedness. As far as i know it is a safe procedure and usually not painful. Ophthalmologists perform this procedure.:)

First of all, I would like to apologise for what has transpired recently. I take full responsibility for what has happened. Having said that, allow me to clarify some things and will try to make it as brief as possible.

I am Doctor J and Skin Doc is my wife. We are two different people and we are real physicians, diplomates and fellows in our fields of specialty. We have confirmed that there was a third person (who we knew personally) who had used a different username (sexy mom) in TF online in our location without our knowledge. In my two years in TF, this was the only time that this has happened. As this person may have intentionally did this (and even thought it was funny), did not know the repercussions of such actions then. We did not reply right away to Mr. DCat’s posts but have sent private messages to him regarding such. DCat however, did not reply except for the posts he had made. I cannot deny that his message is not unfounded but it would have been better of he had inquired first before passing judgment. I do hope that when the time comes that you are put on the spotlight, you don’t get the same treatment as you have given us. Just the same, the damage has been done and we have to accept reality as it is. To friley and ken 1016, we understand you well. We are facing the music and we apologise.

I have been a member of TF for more that two years, and in those two years, I have not only invited my wife but even my patients from Japan to join this forum because of the good relationship that I have built and received. I am pretty sure that we have helped a lot of people here too.

Again, our heartfelt apologies. We did not intend for this to happen. We would like to announce that this will be our last post in Timog Forum. As it pains me to leave this forum, this will serve as an assurance that this incident shall not happen again. With this, we bid thee farewell.

The story behind this issue is self-evident. A member named Sexy Mom posted at this thread asking for some information on Doctor J's services. Why would she do that if she has access to the same establishment as Doctor J? I closed the thread temporarily for security reasons, while we double check the issue.

After confirming that we have conclusive evidence, I posted the request. Now, about Doctor J's side of the story, we received neither an apology or any admission that any wrong doing has been made. The only message we received was one asking why the thread was closed and second, denying any knowledge of any wrongdoing and asking that I take back what I posted and requesting that we settle it outside the forum.

We're sorry to say we cannot settle it out of the forum because this issue concerns potentially all TF members, after all, every TF member is potentially a costumer. Does anybody remember the warning nick posted (http://www.timog.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118 31) about this - it is a recurrent problem in forums where participation is relatively anonymous, we know because we're the ones who get the complaints when someone finally gets duped. We therefore need to weigh Doctor J's request against our responsibility to all TF members.

Even if Doctor J was telling the truth about Sexy Mom just being a third person who they knew personally and who don't know the repercussions of his/her actions, the post should stay for everybody's reference. Moreover, no matter how and in which angle we view the issue, Doctor J and Skin Doc cannot be free from fault. People of their rank who advertises should have been more careful who they let use their facilities. The alibi that goes, "we didn't know" is simply unacceptable.

In any case, Doctory J and Skin Doc were not banned, not even Sexy Mom, they were just warned. We would like to think that members are forgiving, but all the same it is not ours but the members call if they forgive or not since they are the ones who might use the service. The important thing is that they know that Sexy Mom was a fake costumer who while having the same access to Doctor J's connection has posted at this thread with the intent of misleading other readers. Doctor J claims that he knew not of Sexy Mom's actions. TF members will have to decide for themselves whether they believe Doctor J's account of the issue, but even if we do believe Doctor J, we still need to give a warning to avoid recurrences, and hopefully to protect you guys from deceiving posts by the likes of Sexy Mom.

My reaction to the issue is not premised on any personal bias as I do not know skin doc nor do I profit from any dealings with him/her. Let me point it out. I think regardless of his/her innocence or guilt, TF member involved should have been given the right to explain. Hear his side of the story before any action, (whether its favorable or prejudicial to the person) is taken. It is a fundamental right available to anyone. It may be moot and academic to talk about it now since as you said the evidence is conclusive ( I believe so too ). However, the point is, as in any case of arguments, you hear first before you pass judgment.

If you read his defense “ I cannot deny that his message is not unfounded but it would have been better of he had inquired first before passing judgment.”

This is an extreme case but just the same, let me stress it out, imagine a self confessed criminal accused of a felony , the Judge hearing the case does not render judgment right away. He hears first before he passes judgment. Why? because it’s the accused basic and fundamental right. You may say that no penalty has been imposed yet, anyway so no harm was done . True, he was not suspended or banned but the imputation is malicious. It’s good though that the evidence is conclusive, i.e. you found out that all three accounts belong to one person. As I said its moot and academic but please next time be more prudent.

By the way, I haven’t forgotten the treat you promised come payday. Parang tagal na ata non. :p
