inquirer A month into the election campaign, the senatorial race has tightened, with seven opposition, administration and independent candidates scrambling for the last four slots in the Magic 12, results of a nationwide survey conducted by Social Weather Stations on March 15-18 showed.
The seven candidates are former senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan, an independent candidate; reelectionist Sen. Joker Arroyo of the administration’s Team Unity (TU), Tarlac Rep. Benigno Aquino III of the Genuine Opposition (GO), former senator Vicente Sotto III of TU, former senator John Osmeña of GO, Aquilino L. Pimentel III of GO and Michael Defensor of TU.
