inquirer Consumer prices were 2.2 percent higher in March than a year earlier, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said. "This was the lowest inflation rate since April 1987, when it stood at 1.0 percent," the NSO said. The central bank had predicted an inflation rate last month in the range of 2.0-2.6 percent. In February, inflation was 2.6 percent. The annual rate of core inflation, which excludes certain food and energy items, eased to 2.6 percent last month from 3.0 percent in February. Read more...
