I seek the wisdom of the people here who experienced studying, currently studying and living in Japan.
I am currently studying IT course in one of the Junior College somewhere in Kanagawa. I am about to graduate next year but I didn't take seriously my study during my 1st year in school( I have reasons but Its a long story to write here ) and ended me feeling like I am not learning anything anymore. For that reason I'm not sure If I am capable of getting a Job here. Yeah I dont have the confidence to find a Job. But I dont want to waste the money my Mom spent just for me to continue my study here. So I want to know what is the best thing to do. I had this matter confessed to my mother already and of course she felt sad when I told her about it.
Now Im thinking of two things to traverse: Either try to find a job or go and study again at a different University with the course I like. Im very confuse what to do now so I decided to write and seek help here.
If I am going to study I am also am confuse if I should computer science in 4 Years University take Animation, Computer Graphics in Technical Schools.
I love Gaming and Animation very much and want to work to Companies like Squaresoft or Namco in the Future. I dont know what course to take in order to yield myself to be competent enough to enter in those mentioned Companies.
All the Information and advices will be appreciated.

As a mother I would encourage you to study a course that you like, take the path that you want to go not because your mother wants you to or just to please her. If you still can afford it why not take the course of your own liking? You have to make up your mind and decide. Time is very precious. If you love Gaming and Animation study something related to that and go for it. You know yourself better than your mom or anyone else for that matter. You'll be the one to live your life so try to make wise decisions.
This early my eldest daughter knows already what's best for her. She has a talent in drawing and sketching and she wants to be in illustrator. She plans to take up Arts in college and I encourage her to do so because that's what she loves to do. You can see some of her drawings in another thread (Pictures, My daughter's gift) (http://www.timog.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115 93&page=2)..
I wish you all the best... Ganbatte :)..

First, I would just like to say how lucky you are that you are studying in Japan. You still have the chance to continue and the opportunity to change.
I am also an IT student (actually I'll graduate this May) with a degree in Systems Software Engineering. But I really like graphics and design, rather than the actual programming.
Here's a thread about my course and preferred studies:

I plan to study in Japan too. Take up a Design course as a Professional Training scholar funded by the government. It really is advisable that you pursue whatever it is that you would like as a career, rather than regret and face the consequences later in your life.
I searched a bit, and found a school in Tokyo that will cater to your needs.

Salamat po La Tina San.
Ang galing ng anak nio gumuhit ha. Kakainggit naman. Noon bata p ako may talent din me sa larangan ng pagguhit. Very perfectionist me sa pagguhit pero without a copy I cant draw anything kaya parang nawalan me ng gana.
Good luck din po sa anak nio. Hope she turn into a great Manga ka someday.

Read this blog about a game developer in japan. Then decide. Its very entertaining and a first hand view of what's happening in that industry.
