asahi More than 80 percent of voters feel that political parties have failed to play the roles expected from the public, and a whopping 92 percent want politics to change, a survey showed Monday. According to the survey conducted by The Asahi Shimbun, 53 percent of voters think political parties are important, and 62 percent said politics are closely linked to work and daily lives. But only 10 percent say the parties are fulfilling their roles for society, and 58 percent said they do not trust politics, compared with 41 percent who do. Read more...
