Investment firm searched over 60 bil. yen shrimp scam
The Metropolitan Police Department on Tuesday searched the office of an investment company in Tokyo, on suspicion that it fraudulently raised 60 billion yen from about 40,000 people in relation to a shrimp-farming investment project in the Philippines.
The MPD launched its investigation in June after about 50 people filed complaints. Probes revealed that the Philippines-based company involved in the project was a small firm operating on a far smaller scale than investors had been led to believe.

The shrimp farm was said to be located somewhere in Lucena, but when people there were asked whether they know or heard anything about the farm , it seems that nobody ever heard about the existence of such place.
The owner of the firm (Mw. Kuroiwa) is in hiding. The Philippine based firm involved in the project should also be investigated.
