Mga ka-TF members,
My friend and I are going to Kyoto this 29th and 30th.
Do you have any suggestion on good places worthwhile visiting?
I've been there before but it was purely business.
If any of you could give me some suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it...

hi kratos! my sister and i went to kyoto last week, for 3 days. and 3 days wasn't even enough for sightseeing the whole place. so better plan your sightseeing route in advance, to make the most of your stay there.
i think you'll find a lot of kyoto-related sites on the internet. and i would also like to suggest that you buy a 1-day bus ticket, that's 500yen. you can already roam around the area by riding the bus as many times as you can. and you will also get a free english map of the area (specifically ask for an english map. otherwise, they'll give you a japanese copy.) shrine/temple entrance fees range from 300-600 yen. most of them are open early in the morning around 8am to 9am, and closes at around 4pm to 5pm. there are some that closes later than that, but very few.
the bus ticket can be purchased at the main entrance of kyoto station. in japanese, they call it "ichinichi basu joushaken". the map also highlights the famous sites in the area like ginkakuji, kinkakuji, kiyomizu temple, heian jingu, roanji (with the famous rock garden). so, you may also follow what the map suggests.
having a taste of kyoto cuisine is also recommended.
have fun!

Kyoto was indeed a beautiful place. I went there for customer visit so all was paid by my company. I wanna go there again on my own personal expense.
And if you are looking for a great after-office hours hangouts, just go tell the taxi to bring you to Genyo. Trully enjoyed it. Minna-san doumo arigatou gozaimasu.:D
