bat ganun i cant use my webcam sa ym khit nadisable ko na ung firewall ayaw pa din...ayaw nya sa ibang connection kundi firewall with no proxy lang...pag iba ayaw magconnect...48 years ko na kinakalikot laptop na to...im running windows xp nga pla...pls.help naman kc my family sa pinas gusto makita baby ko...nd ko mapagbigyan dahil nga ayaw maconnect...lagi lumalabas...you are behind firewall...

hay naku mama, vista ang windows ko pero mukhang sa kakaoperate ko sa webcam pano maactivate eh mata ko ang magdoble vista....:mad: sana may maawa sa inyong duling lingkod hehehe....

hay naku gaya ngayon, mukha na akong suminghot ng sunog na tsinelas kc nga nangarag na mata ko sa katitingin dto...buti na lang najoin ko ang site na to at least nangingiti din ako... informative talaga sya....i recommend this to all living things in the universe....:)

cguro ang problema ay nasa isp mo. baka nakadisable ang port 5100. kasi kahit disable na ang firewall mo, your isp's router wont allow connections thru port 5100. usually ganyan ang setup pag nasa office ka. try mo tawagan ang iyong customer rep. :D

hello po. magandang umaga sayo. pasensya na po ngayon lang ako nakaluwag luwag. anyway, tanong ko lang po ang mga sumusunod:

1. na-install nyo po ba ng tama ang driver ng webcam?
2. ano pong modelo ang webcam nyo?
3. aside from windows firewall, may iba pa po bang firewall na naka-install sa unit nyo?

patry na lang po ang sumusunod baka makatulong:

1. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
2. Double click nyo po yung "Network Connections"
3. May lalabas na window, click nyo po yung "Advance" tab click the "Settings button".

4. Another window will appear, select or click "Off (not recommended)" and click ok on all the window na lumabas.

*Note: this will turn off your windows firewall which is not recommended but might probably solve the problem.


Another option that will allow the webcam port to traverse on your computer having your computer firewall turned on.
1. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
2. Double click nyo po yung "Network Connections"
3. May lalabas na window, click nyo po yung "Advance" tab click the "Settings button".

4. Another window will appear, click "Advanced" tab.
5. Under the Network Connections Settings, make sure na nakacheck yung "Local Access Connection". Click mo yung "Settings" button sa tabi nya.

6. May lalabas na bagong window/screen click mo yung "Add" button sa may bandang ilalim.
7. May lalabs ulit na bagong window/screen, fillout mo lang yung details using the following entries:

Description of service:
Yahoo! Webam

Name or IP address.......:
127.0.0.1

Exteranal Port number for this service:
5100

Internal Port number for this service:
5100

8. Click "OK" sa lahat ng window.


Try your webcam in your yahoo messenger. Hope it helps!

by the way, i used Windows XP Professional Edition for creating that guide. i don't know if those steps are the same or applicable to Windows XP Homoe Edition ;)

Kung windows vista po ang OS ng laptop mo dapat compatible po yung webcam nyo sa vista kung buffalo po ang tatak ng webcam mo hanapin mo lng yung number at style ng webcam mo sa website ng buffalo then mag download ka at iinstall ang updated na driver sa vista mo..ganyan din kase yung ginawa ko sa kaibigan ko na nakablack out lang yung webcam nya.. windows vista din gamit nya at nakadisable din ang firewall,pero ayaw pa ring gumana,then nag download kami ng bagong driver from webcam manufacturer site(buffalo)ayun nasolve namin..;)

We couldn't get YM running. Maybe same as your problem.
However, we used Skype instead and it worked for him.
Try using Skype and ask your family back home to use Skype likewise.
This is the usual problem with new OSes.... It takes time for all softwares to be compatible with.

Just download it from this site:
http://www.skype.com/download/

Create your skype name.... then you are set to go.
Skype is almost the same as YM, free PC to PC video calls, chats, sending files, etc.
But before that, I remember. You better check if your camera is working properly.
After you installed drivers for your webcam, try using it first without YM or Skype.
Sa XP, just go to My Computer then one of the icons is your webcam. (I don't know how this is done in Vista. I am an XP user kasi. But probably the same. Kibo suru!)
Double-clicking it would start up your webcam. If it works fine, then it means YM is the problem. If not, then the camera or the driver is the problem. Using Skype won't solve the problem.

isa isahin mo muna yung mga katanungan ni g33k .. dahil kahit sino sa amin dito na nakakaintindi ganyan din ang gusto naming malaman at ganong kwestyon din po ang itatanong namin .. para malaman namin kung saan nagkaka problema. hindi ka po namin basta masasagot ng walang basehan kung saan ang problema.. mahirap po kasing manghula .. ganbatte :)
