konnichiha!

are there any Japanese Buddhists (Shingon, Tendai, Nichiren, Zen) or Vajrayana (specifically Gelug or Karma Kagyu) Buddhists in this forum?

sou desu ka? :) saan ka nag-aaral? may initiation ba ang nichiren? bakit nichiren ang pinili mo?

i studied zen for a short time but i want to be Shingon, pero sa US, Taiwan and Hongkong lang ang overseas branches nito

it was the first nontheistic religion that was introduce to me by a friend (SGI to be specific). self-study lang, i borrowed a book about the writings of nichiren daishonin, and buddhist study in general. :D

sabi saken simple lang para maging member, di ka na ilulubog sa tubig. :D

i havent come across shingon and zen.

My Japanese brother in-law is a Japanese Buddhist (SGI), but unfortunately he's not a member of this forum.

SGI is the biggest Buddhist-sect here in Japan.

sa experience ko, Zen ang pinakamalapit sa pagiging atheist, in the sense na walang belief in One God. Instead, they believe in many gods. Pure Land has Amitaba while the Tibetans have their Tantras

wow thanks so much for the link! i've heard of SGI before but i thought it was just a tiny group so i didn't bother looking them up. They have a branch here pala. I'll try to visit them on Sunday :)

i havent tried others just nichiren. buddhism could be regarded as an atheistic religion but is not concerned primarily with rejecting the notion of God, simply because there is no place for God in buddhism. :D
