Just wanna be proud sa mga taong tinahak ang ganitong mga kurso dahil kung alam nyo lang ang mga dedications at paghihirap namin sa mga pag aaral namin, then you'll know why...
And moreover, kung anu man ang mga tinapos nonyo ay kapareho lang tayo ng mga nararamdaman that we are proud of what we've accomplished....
Kung pwede sana ay wag negative ang pag iisip natin...

nagbago na po isip ko, architechture na lang cguro...

nakita ko sa website ng mapua merong course na BS project construction management...mukhang challenging ang course na ito....:D

Considering that valid yung units ng mga basic subjects mo (algebra, trigo...etc) more or less mag uumpisa ka sa mga major subjects ng Civil Engineering which I thinks starts at 3rd year...So probably aabutin ka pa ng 6 regular semesters...or 3 years. Another case naman sa mga schools na trimesters, maybe shorter time to finish the course.

Architecture is another case...mas madami kang taon(5 years or more) na dadaanan to be a full pledge architect...after graduation, tthe board requires you to work for two years practicing your course before you can take the board exam....
But of course.....iba ang sarap pag nadaanan ang hirap di ba...hehe

sa GE (general engineering) lang siguro ang credited sayo...
Siguro hanggang Mechanics and Strength of Materials then yung mga 10110011 na subjects mo sa COE baka hindi na magamit sa CE though meron din subjects na ginagamitan ng programming minsan.. Kuya ko kasi CE naman same school... More on design sila ng actual... If you know STAAD PRO... dun sila focus pagdating ng design... saka AUTOCAD din pala...
at ang mahihirap na subjects pa nila eh mga CONCRETE Design, Foundation, Members ,etc..

But bilib ako sa mga CE syempre... BUILDER of the nations yata sila...

IMO, there's nothing wrong with this thread... at first it's on the right thread, and secondly, wala namang inaapakan na other members here as what the other members are saying na discriminating ang survey. so let's be professional at tanggalin natin ang pagiging regionalistic natin...

but being on-topic, i'm a COE grad currently working in an airline company here in KSA... pero i'm looking for a better opportunity there in Japan. sana matulungan nyo ko mga ka-brod. due to some personal reasons, kaya sana gusto ko dyan sa Japan makapagtrabaho, kahit entry level walang problema sa akin. :)

pero i think mas madali ka makakapasok sa Japan dahil nga COE ka..
mas prefer nila dito mga IT related and Computer jobs...

CoE grad here...but i'm currently working as a programmer. pero minsan troubleshoot din ng hardware. i'm thinking if i'm gonna switch back to hardware or stick to programming. pareho ko sila kasing gusto but most of the jobs for programmers kasi, they require at least 3 years experience...huhu e 1 year pa lang experience ko cuz last year lang nila ko pinagfull-time sa development. i've been doing support jobs most of the time kaya i'm considering to stick with the support thing na lang para solid na yung experience ko dun.

Hi,

Para sa akin, nothing is offending sa poll na ito. Others are also free to create polls based on their purpose as long as said poll is within the TF rules. At least, categorized ito, specific, at hindi mix-mix. So kung meron info or job opportunities, or questions re engineering and IT stuff, alam natin kung saan magbasa.

Like me, malay mo makakuha ka ng tips kung paano or saan makapag apply as engineer, computer, field, mechanical, etc. Marami akong kakilala na nagtatanong paano makarating dito and work as engineer, at meron din akong alam na 2 japanese companies that hire engineers from Pinas, at ibang nagpunta dito as trainees...so not a big deal really.

Dito sa Forum and any forum for that matter, you can expect different and varied viewpoints and opinions, agreements and disagreements. We are all different! Imagine how boring the world becomes if we all agree.

I believe majority or most of the Pinoys and Pinays na andito sa Japan eh mga matitigas na, otherwise hindi sila tatagal dito, so huwag ng maging pusong mamon. Forum lang po ito, as long as we are being objective and able to express ourselves or our thoughts in a civil manner... e walang stress. Sobra na stress dito sa Japan, deadma na lang or huwag masyadong sensitive as long as posts are not below the belt.

kuya jason, pasali.. grad ako ng CompScie kea lang business related yung course ko ngtake ako Accounting, Marketing and Management, di po minor subjects, major din sa laki ng units namen, so parang 2 kagad yung course ko na-take, yung programming/networking/SAD I and II namen late na tinuro sa school, so self-study talaga ako, kea ngayon kahit papaano, di nasayang yung pinag-aralan ko, webdesigner/dev and techsupport ako ngayon, sa mobile naman.. parang WAP.. heheh.. kea lang first choice ko talaga Architecture, dapat schoolmates tayo kea lang, di ko tinuloy since that time sobrang busy ako sa pagtake ng test sa mga skul and that time, pauwi ako dito sa japan, so di ko naayos mga requirements ko sa MIT.. :(

I think it would be better if we classify ourselves according to specific fields/line of work rather than the courses we have graduated from. This might avoid superiority/inferiority complex among members. Whether one is a doctor, nurse, caregiver, pharmacist; all of them work under health care. One who took 6 months course in Java can be grouped with a licensed Chemical engineer who eventually ended up working in Web based development. etc, etc...

If we want this thread to be 'technical' then let us talk about those fields and perhaps name more other fields that are unknown to others. If one says he/she's in IT, what does he/she do? Is it in web-based dev? SAP applications? Artificial Intelligence?

I tried to answer the poll, but I got confused. I graduated as a Computer Engineer though definitely I'm not a hacker since I know nothing of it and had not specialized in computer networks. I now work with a pinoy who is an ECE grad and we're both in hardware development. And for all other TF members who are into FPGA, EDA, etc. let's group ourselves together and learn from each other. :)

I am a COM SCI graduate but when i came here to japan naging CHEF ako for 5 years sa isang suite hotel sa okinawa(tanoshi katta yo)zenzen kankeinai desho? . then nagpunta ako sa aichi kasi alam ko maraming factory dito so try ko na mag hanap ng work na talagang suitable para sa nakuha kong course. naging "sokuteisha" ako in short eh gumagamit na rin ng Auto CAD, 3D machines and PCs etc all in japanese versions. and ofcourse dahil yan sa good fellow ko na si CONCERNPINOY, i really owe him one (thanks a lot dude!:D ). i really dont know kung ano ang mga ginagawa ng mga engineers, basta mga engineer stuff eh hindi ko alam. natuto ako by self study. so now i am working as an engineer. lahat ng co workers ko is nihonjin kaya lahat ng stuff eh japanese rin. tyaga lang ang kailangan talaga dude. 以上.:)

ako naman kick-out sa isang skul kaya di ako nakapag-patuloy sa computer engineering(hehehe, first year ako nun so wala pang major subjects). buti di ako totally nablack-listed kaya naipagpatuloy ko ang aking kolehiyo sa isang skul na tumanggap sa akin:D. this time, computer science na kinuha ko. during my college days, walang specific majors kaya halo halo yung mga subjects namin:D

ngayon akoy taga download, taga test, taga kulit sa mga tao sa kabilang kompanya, taga mail, taga gawa ng script, taga basa ng kung anu2x na impormasyon na di man lang alam saan mahagilap, taga post na rin sa TF (sorry sis, gaya2x yata ako :p ).

I graduated Information Technology at dumaan din sa training which consisted mostly of java and C, at iba pa na sobrang nakakadugo ng ilong huhuhu.. pero ngayon kahit Hello World man lang na program, hindi na kasali sa trabaho. tuloy naiisip ko kung ito ba talaga yung career na para sakin hehe... pano kasi, di ko naman talaga gusto ung computer subjects sa high school, napilitan lang dahil praktikal (daw). Pero nagustuhan ko naman in the end. Kaso nga lang, gusto ko ung programming part, hindi tong ginagawa ko ngayon.

oh well, bata pa naman ako. at agree ako sa mga sabi nyo na it would serve as a good foundation for whatever lies in the future, mapa IT field nga man o hindi. nagagamit naman siguro ang computer knowledge sa pagiging barista noh? :p

ang daming computer nyan ha. ako hanggang 10-server lang tapos hanggang 150client pc's. tapos lahat pa ng implementation at testing ko sa mga clone :D

dude pasensya na wala ako nyan. ni isang certification wala din ako, masyado kasing expensive sa part ko. online community at si uncle google lang ang nag-guguide sa akin kung saan magsisimula :D

laging lakasan na lang ng loob pag dating ng job interview. sa field kasi natin, malaki ang puntos ng certifications. may pambara lang ako sa mga nag-iinterview sa akin kaya kahit papaano, natatanggap naman ako ::D o sadyang sini-swerte lang ako :D

try mo rin kumuha ng RHCE, kapag di umabot yung points mo, baka maqualify pa as RHCT kaya di nakakahinayang kumuha ng exam. pero kung sagot naman ng company nyo eh, grab it :D
