Apple has become the most valuable computer maker in the world.

Driven by the company's record-setting Q4 financial results and a wave of positive upgrades from analysts across the board, Apple's shares shot North to close at $186.10 per share last night. While the shares have lost $1.80 on early trading, the company's market capital remains around the $161.84 billion mark.

That's higher than IBM ($155b); Intel ($156b), Nokia ($150b). It puts Apple into fourth place in the top technology stocks, behind Cisco ($189b), Google ($208b) and Microsoft ($290b). (Read More...) (http://www.macworld.co.uk/business/news/index.cfm?newsid=194 72&pagtype=allchandate)

As a mac user since 1994, and as a user who stuck with Macs even when all the talks coming from all direction spoke of Apple's fall, it gives me a lot of pleasure that Apple is having it's renaissance. The first Mac i was fortunate to use was Color Classic II, shared by everyone in the family and even the neighbors. Young as i was at that time i thought it was a real treat.

A little Apple for the family...

I remember at around the second half of 90's when I was still in the Philippines and when most technology pundits thought Apple's end was about to come, I was planning on getting a scholarship in Japan, my motivation behind it was very simple --- I just wanted my very own mac.

Now i already have an iMac and a PowerBook, what's more, the future of Apple has just become even brighter. Indeed it is a happy time for all mac enthusiasts. :)
