hi! to all tf members,im just new in here my friend told that lots of pc expert are hanging out in here so for all of you guys out threre hope to give me some advice.
ok here are the issues im am currently tweaking my cpu to make it more faster means overclocking it but the problem is im not getting it to the max yet ive try all the adjustment in bios like fsb, voltage, mem latency yet im nailed to 3.2ghz its just crashing when i came to 3.3 upwards pls give some advice..gamers like me doesnt really content on stock speed especially
CRYSIS is due to out these nov.its a high end game that needs nice pc spec to max it out for full gaming enjoyment
my spec:
cpu-q6600 2.4ghz oa to only 3.2ghz
mobo-asus striker
mem-2gb corsair xms2
gpu-xfx 8800 gts fatality superclock 650mhz
psu-750watts enermax sli ready
thermal-coolermaster watercooling system
case-coolermaster rc830-ssn1 cm stacker
vista ultimate o.s.

dude, extreme overclocking ba gusto mo? hehe, try to change the voltage regulator of your mobo, kasi even if you max your voltage, mobo's limit is only around 90amperes. voltage is directly proportional to current... take a look at this tomshardware's 5ghz liquid nitrogen cooled system for the howto... :D

Dudes! Nice rig!

hi VECTRA...
bus speed is currently 357 devide it by 4 is rated 1427.7mhz fsb and bcoz its kensfield multiplier is locked only to 9 so by changing its buspeed is the only way to overclock it.mobo is really for overclocking thats why im confused its not quit stable to run it higher to 3.2 memo is good too freq is 447 times it by 2 i got 894 wich is little beyond what an corsair xms2 can provide latency is 4-4-4-12 clocks voltage was raise too cpu, north and south bridge.no problem with temp bcoz its watercooled and im monitor it with even 100percent load its only 30 to 33c there must be a problem one way or onother isnt it???
any suggestion that you could help would be appreciated very well.

dude question..

You want to overclock yong current system mo 2.4 ghz to 3.2 ghz ?

My own reason.. some PCU na inooverclock natin might work but of course ang life span ng ating CPU ay lumiliit.. mas nag poproduce ng heat at kailangn ng more Power.. and one main reason.. Windows might not function properly kung masyadong overclocked po ang system mo..

Opinyon lang po..:)

yup it really affects the temp specially for q6600 bcoz it is a quad core cpu adjsuting its voltage means frying up its own core so important is cooling solutuions is very good.just what ive said im not onto surfing the net or just listening to music gaming is a very intense and for actually achieving what it is design for it is really needed for a high speed gaming machice and for that overclocking is the cheapest way to to do it,danger follows ofcourse must have the knowledge of tweaking it otherwise it break your system or worst pemanently damaged it. so must know all the rules and risk before doing it.try download crysis demo run it on dx10 at very high settings and resolutions at its highest thats what im aiming for...

^dude, suggestion ko lang kung may budget ka naman and youre into extreme gaming, why not buy a proc with an unlock multiplier so u can achieve maxx results... tsaka sabi nga ni nemoyspruce, patch your vista to xp. or wait for the vista sp2. :D

11-09-2007, 02:51 PM
way to expensive my friend intels extremes family are too costly.overclocking can achieve that amount of speed even greater with minimun cost.my 3.2ghz quad actually run most of the games but crysis is way to far i got amazing 88gts fatality 96 stream proc.650mhzclock it even beats 88gtx on benchmarking..buying such a product that only in papers indacates it actual spec is not advisable at all..so many reviews and results are on the net

on the demo ive notice my other cores are not indicating its usage done a lot of reseach found out on the actual full game iwill benefit multi core demo is a demo anyway.actually that what it is design for on the other hand you cannot experience yet dx10,dx10 is a leap forward for gaming very enhance visual images and the shaders making it closer and closer to virtual reality that dx 9 cannot do.but vista need to do something because low frame rate are commonly complaint among gamers who uses vista..xp enjoy it while it last sooner it will not provide what games publishers are making now a days...

actually that what it is design for on the other hand you cannot experience yet dx10

sorry guys my mistake what i meant is dx10 is currenlty under vista not yet on xp i think some dudes in united states are trying to make it happend on xp but not yet in final versions hoping for there success so xp users can experience dx10 but ofcourse 8 series grapics card must be installed onto your system

yup dude, yan yung problema u cant utilize your 4xcores 4xthreads, sayang... still few games available today are enhanced for multicore systems. :D

try this vista sp1 beta, sabi nila alot of performance enhancements daw... :D https://connect.microsoft.co m/windows/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx ?DownloadID=8788

yup ive anwered your previous questions so do you think adjusting cpu voltage can make it more stable frankly ive done it already it also the same asus mobo come with lcd that make post error upon booting the system it says DETDDR so maybe ram is causing the problem dont you think?another thing is everest doesnt actually match the cpu tem. with the bios and the asus utility software wich is asus PCPROBE and AISUITE and for that everest seems inconsistent with monitoring the temp.by the way here are some photos of my cpuz result, bios and parts of my rig..
tnks for the comments...

HE!HE! Kala ko naka fatality ka? Yung sa akin kasi kulay pula e, sli bang set up mo? I think I know you or you know me! HE!HE!

yup, im running in sli forgot to mentioned that..red is the actual color of its cover and bcoz ive watercooled it have to removed the cover so the tubes will fit perfectly..well based on the reviews ive learned about corsair memory could actually handle more than 900mhz but im not achieving it yet guess have to stick to 3.2ghz for a while until the final release of highly anticipated game CRYSIS are out..
MAN SO ADDICTED TO THIS GAME....:D
dont think i know you just dropping by here to gather infos about pc hardwares...

"We used the built-in Crysis CPU benchmark to see how the game performed across a broad range of CPUs. We also ran the game on the same CPU but set at different frequencies to see how much clock speeds affected performance. The Intel Core 2 CPUs ran Crysis with ease, and our dual-core AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors also performed quite well--they did take a minor performance hit but still maintained playable frame rates. Our older single-core Athlon 64 4000+ lagged behind the other processors by a considerable amount. The CPU becomes less of a bottleneck when we bump up the graphical complexity. If you have a single-core processor you should definitely consider upgrading to a multicore. However, if you already have a dual-core CPU, you probably won't gain very much by moving up to a quad-core CPU."

Check this out, bro. They've tested Crysis using different hardwares and OS. It's quite long, but informative nonetheless. Happy tweaking and happy playing. :)
