I'm thinking of switching to this na but not sure which edition to choice. Is it worth buying the expensive Windows Vista Ultimate for a starter like me? I like the multi lingual function limited only for Ultimate. Any advice from Vista user members here?

dude, vista includes alot of annoying features, kaya ginawa ko inupgrade ko ng windows xp sp2. hehe. joke lang. :hihi:
the best is to wait for the sp1 or sp2 for most of microsoft products. thats their real release. :D

u can try vista enterprise with office 2007 for 30days.. :D

tama si kakkoii.. lahat yata ng releases ng windows ay may mga kasunod ng upgrades (thru service packs). better wait. pero kung talaga namang kailangan mo na, pwede mo rin naman upgrade yang mabibili mo later using yung mga lalabas na service packs.. :D

dati gamit ko xp,bumili si huby ng laptop,windows vista home premium...ang hirap nito yung ibang nakainstall eh pang xp lang...yan lang ang alam ko...
pero maganda ang vista kc bago hehehe:p

Vista ako before,pero maarte ..naliligaw ako kaya back ako sa XP..Bobo pa naman ako sa pc kaya kung ano ang nakasanayan kong gamitin..

Go for Vista Ultimate! Since newbie ka kamo, walang masyadong magiging problema sa compatibility ng programs dahil Im sure na ilan at yung mga simpleng programs lang naman ang gagamitin mo!
Am I right? Nagiging comment lang kasi ng iba na maraming problema ang Vista kasi napakaraming prog./applications ang iniinstall nila na hindi naman masyadong kailangan!:)

vista nga japanese naman ang gamit namin di pedeng palitan ng english eh kc ginagamit ng anak ni huby...mas mahirap po...:(

Im not in a hurry kaya I think I should take your advices guys na try ko muna yung trial n yan.

The programs I am always using are Microsoft Office, Media Player, I Tunes, Adobe reader, and Visual Studio lang naman.

Grabe Windows Vista 50,000Yen tapos yung upgrade naman 30,000 daw.

Additional question pala. Windows XP ang gamit ko ngaun pero wala akong hawak n software, yung Windows Vista Ultimate upgrade is for upgrading your Windows Xp to Vista right? ok lang b magupgrade kahit walang cd?

here are some of the complaints on vista...
uac - its a kind of protection pero kahit magedit ka lang sa notepad e tatanungin ka pa pero pwede mo nmn din sya iturn off
windows defender - wala daw itong silbi.
drm - mahirapan ka magplay ng mga orig bluray at hd dvd.
battery life - power hungry sya kaya mas drain laptop battery mo. kelangan mo gumamit ng motolite pangmatagalan.
software compatibility - bago pa lang tong vista so madami pang softwares na di compatible.
games - mabagal daw sa dx10.
file system - vista ang pinakamabagal magkopya ng files.
etc.

service packs o sp - eto ung updates sa mga nabanggit na annoyances... malapit na sya irelease. :D

sa experience ko nga sa school ko using Windows Vista, madalas mabagal cia magcopy ng file.

ganon pala. parang sa games patched tapos sa windows service pack ganon b?

so kung gusto ko ng magandang vista mas maganda wait ko n lng yang service pack n yan. magkano kaya ang price nun. may link ka ba kakkoii san?

libre lang ang mga service packs na nirerelease ng microsoft. sa ngayon beta pa lang ang sp1 ng vista. try mo tong windows 2008 beta, vista din yan integrated na ang sp1. link here (http://technet.microsoft.co m/en-us/bb687945.aspx) :D

There are lot of Techincal changes for Vista..

The best way to know the difference is to try yong 30 days trial nya.. and you can start thinking kung mag suit ba sa need mo ang Windows vista

Disadvantages of using Windows Vista... Need more good hardware specs..
yong magandang klase mo na hardware maaring mag work faster sa windows xp but will work normal pc sa vista :D

Vista is good eye candy OS.. but one word to say.. Vista S@#!KS

thermometer san, tama ka good eye candy nga ang vista. ibang iba sia sa xp. anyway sa mga binigay ninyo lahat n advice dito. I think its much better kung magwait n lang muna ako. Pero I'll try pa rin yung 30 days trial hehehe (ang kulit ko ba)

depende yan sa iyo, kung talgang willing kang magkaroon ng in depth knowledge sa computer at maintindihan mo ng husto ang iyong pc, get an ultimate dahil nga sa MUI feature nito. kasi kung dito ka bumili ng pc sa japan at japanese ang os, limited talga ang information na makukuha mo sa pc mo kung di ka magaling magbasa at umitindi ng nihongo.. isang bagay din pla, kung sakaling wla ka pang pc at pabili ka pa lang, i suggest na mag vista ka na although yun xp ay gamit na gamit pa rin ngayon at can meet most of people requirements on their computing needs.. by the way, nagswithched na rin pala ako ng ultimate dahil sa MUI, binili ko yun pc ko with vista home premium.. at ngayon wala akong problema sa messages coming out on my pc dahil in english ang setup ko..

If you are into it just for curiosity, please give it a try.
I have also tried it. But like the rest, I switched back to XP.
I used Vista Ultimate. Maganda visuals nya. But it has many bugs.
Example is sa web surfing, I used kasi Mozilla often. Many times search ako sa google ng keyword. Then iclick ko some of the results into a new tab. Yung lalabas google website mismo. There are also cases na when you try to download a file, sasabihin nya file not found. I just copy the URL then paste it in IE and it works again. Annoying.
Sa webcams naman (user kasi me YM at skype) although Vista compatible na yung cam, kahit niload mo drivers, di pa rin makita ng Vista. I have tried updating driver from the maker's website, it did not help.
Also, still a great deal of good programs are not yet compatible in Vista....
Kung gusto mo anshin ka sa realibility ng PC mo, WinXP is the best for you.
But if you are into discovering new things, try Vista.....
Now I am a happy and satisfied WinXP user again.:O

I agree sayo ulrik n kung bibili me pc eh mas maganda magvista n me dahil sooner or later everyone will switch to vista. The problem is those bugs, most of the people who experienced using vista for a while and switched back to XP like what kratos san, thermoter san kakkoii san and other said.

My aunt bought a laptop with Vista Home Premium. I borrow it sometime when I want to copy a DVD movie. so far the annoying thing I noticed is the security warning and the downloading time. I really want to buy the Ultimate now but If I buy it and the SP is released next year according to kakkoi san. I think I'll be wasting money coz I have to buy the SP2 again to get the patched version.

Do you think there will be a service pack for upgrading ULTIMATE which are cheaper to buy like those Home Premium to ULTIMATE upgrade?

sir ask ko lang kung nasubukan mo na mag partition ng HD mo from windows vista? sakin kasi try ko pero lumalabas lang is low number of mb at di ko magawang gb mismo ung shrink volume eto po ung links nung source :D

sir natry ko na rin ung command prompt e kaso ayaw gumana paulit ulit ung sinasabi. ung gus2 ko sana na new partition is katulad sa xp sir kaso di dual boot gus2 ko lang na 2 HD ung nasa pc ko. kasi ung binili ung pc ko may vista na talaga sya so 1 lang ung HD nya ngaun gus2 ko sana hatiin ung HD na un sa 2 para ung pangalawa is pang backup ko and lalagyanan ko ng mga downloads/documents ko.

With that small space available on your hdisk, better to back-up /move your downloads and other documents to external hdisk, then tsaka ka mag creat ng new partition, apektado na ang performance/speed ng pc mo sa dami ng laman,Am I right?:confused:
