Nothing but the blood of Jesus

“………the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1Jo 1:7

The “blood” points us back to His death on Calvary when there He shed His blood. And without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [Hebrews 9:22]. Suppose you were to die this day and found out that you could not do anything to blot out your sins and you want forgiveness so much and you were asked:

“What is your hope and confidence for the forgiveness of all your sins?”

What will be your reply? Will you call for a priest to administer death bed rites so that your sins will be forgiven? But what if there are no priests around? A blind old man lying in bed and was just waiting for the last breath to come anytime soon was listening to a little girl reading the first chapter of John.

When the little girl came to this verse the old man interrupted her: “Little girl are you sure of that?”

She returned: “Yes”

“Are you sure it’s written there?”

“Yes, the exact words: “”….the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.””

And then he said: “When I finally die, tell others that I died in the faith of these words “”…the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sins.””

How about you dear reader? Again let me asked the question:

“What is your hope and confidence for the forgiveness of all your sins?”

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. --Acts 4:12

I will ask for forginess later. I make a lot of sins first and then ask for forgiveness when I am ready not to make sins anymore.

yes you can do that at your own risk my friend.

Attrition is turning away from sin because you are scared of Hell AND JUST THAT. While contrition is turning away from sin because it is a sin against God nothing more nothing less---Even if there is no Heaven or Hell. Though true repentance starts with attrition it matures into contrition.

Anyone who has truly recieved forgiveness of sins through faith in the blood of Christ has a heart that is contrite.

But you can do attrition my friend at your own risk...........but God is not mocked [who are we fooling here]

The book of Hebrews says that without the remission of the blood (of Christ), there is no forgiveness of sins.

Jesus literally drained out all the blood of His body to the point that water came out from His body (upon piercing it with an arrow) when He was still hanging out of the cross.

The blood should not be worshipped, but the owner of the blood - the glorious Jesus Christ, our God and Creator and Savior. Amen.
