Curious lang po ako mga katimog since sa pinas normal na maniwala mga bata kay Santa (dahil sa fairy tales or dahil na rin sa hirap ng buhay) so since d2 kay Budha naniniwala mga tao (although my mga Catholic ring mga tao kaso konti lang ^^) naisip ko lang na baka maapektuhan ung christmas nila and ung paniniwala kay Papsi Santa kasi diba pag may X-mas may Santa :D Please comment lang po ^^v *peace*
p.s. and Advance Merry Christmas and Happy new Year :D

Ayon po sa isang friend ko na pari, ang mga Hapon daw ay hindi naniniwala kay GOD (except na po yung mga Christians). Kaya nga di talaga nila alam kung sino si GOD. Pero mas naniniwala sila kay Santa Claus.

My wife told me that she used to believe in Santa but she forgot when she realized it's just her parents buying the presents. I guess, it's the same in the Philippines and in other countries as well. Habang bata naniniwala pa.
I think it also depends on how you look at Santa. I honestly feel that in Japan, he's just another guy in a suit that kids love. In the Philippines, he's part of the whole Christmas spirit. There are some parts in Japan where they have illuminations, decors etc pero the spirit is just not there. :(
medyo OT. The other day, the parols in the Philippines was featured in the morning in one of the Japanese TV shows. My wife said, she can't wait to visit the P.I. next year. Sa TV pa lang daw, iba na ang dating. :D

You're right mate, christmas is just a commodity here in Japan; its all about materialism, business and nothing more... i just cant imagine a christmas cake sprinkled with diamonds selling for more than a million yen? thats crazy.
i think the japanese doesnt really know whats christmas all about - yes, last year i saw a xmas decoration in shinjuku, imagine si santa claus nakapako sa krus! very weird idea and its an insult to us christians.

tama po kau ^^ Now that Opappi said it parang napaisip na tuloy ako, may budha sila so bakit ung iba nag se-celabrate pa ng christmas e wala nmn atang Bday si Budha or kung meron po di nmn siguro Dec 25 diba? (kahit po si Jesus di nmn talaga Dec 25 e ginawa lang ng mga tao na Dec 25) So if they celebrate christmas here in Japan and they are not catholic or they have Budha which means materialsm lang talaga ang pasko nila unlike sa ating mga pinoy na it means araw ng bigayan di po ba? (although di maitatanggi na may mga real objectives ang ibang tao about sa pasko e.i. PERA) kaya pala kahit 4 days na lang parang wala ako maramdamang christmas spirit dito :( first time ko kasi mag x-mas d2 so napapaisip ako T_T
