Mabuhay everyone! I'm glad to have stumbled upon this site while doing my research of Filipinos in Japan.

I'm a filipino born in Quezon City, raised and living in Canada. I joined this site hoping to get a better understanding of what it's like in Japan, specifically Hiroshima. The company that I work for is sending me to Hiroshima for roughly 3 months, so I'm trying to gather as much info as I can before I jet off to the land of the rising sun.

Hopefully, many of you will be able to help me out with what it's like for someone like me to get himself out and about in the city of Hiroshima. I don't speak (nor read) a lick of Japanese (which makes me a bit nervous), however, I do love everything about Japan including the culture, people, and especially the food.

If there is already a specific thread in existence regarding Hiroshima please post

..and another thing, I love snowboarding!! ...so hopefully I'll get a chance to hit some of the hills in Japan when I get there. Any info you can give me regarding the snowboarding scene in and around Hiroshima would be great!

Feel free to PM me...

Salamat / Arrigato!!

Welcome to TF Pcan...

like you, i`m also here in canada (AB in particular), but i`m just new here...less than a year to be specific.

i`ve been a member here for almost 2yrs now but i`ve never encountered any thread about hiroshima. i guess, the most practical thing to do is buy a travel guide that specifically focuses on the place like what i did when i visited toronto.

& i suggest too, that you learn, at least the basic conversation coz it will really help you a lot. when i was in ph and was working for a japanese company, i was sent to japan as well & i really found it helpful that i knew at least the basic ones. it helped me survive japan even if i was there for a stint.

anyway, enjoy tf and hope you find this helpful for your trip... if you got the chance, try to EB with other TF members in hiroshima when you get there... they might be the better if not the best source of info...

enjoy your trip! :)

Cool, a fellow Canadian! How did you like Toronto?

Thanks for the good suggestions. I've already started to learn some of the basic conversational phrases. How do I find out who's from Hiroshima?

Cool, a fellow Canadian! How did you like Toronto?

Thanks for the good suggestions. I've already started to learn some of the basic conversational phrases. How do I find out who's from Hiroshima? compare to calgary, i like toronto more. probably, coz i`d been to the way of life in a city, i mean a more urbanized one than calgary. it`s kinda boring here. & it`s freaking cold out here!

i suggest, you make a separate thread and ask who are from hiroshima. most probably they will respond.

gambatte! :)
