May nabasa ako na expose. Simple lang po ang logic ng writer.
If you're not sick, why would you go to the doctor? Doctors earn money because of your disease.
Virus companies will go bankcrupt without virus.
I don't know if it is true. But the logic of the writer says: without virus, there is no anti-virus. :)

There are doctors who force med reps become prostitutes. Nakakalungkot.
There is a secret agenda of doctors targetting sexy med reps.
But the logic of the writer says: without virus, there is no anti-virus. :)
of course
but it doesnt mean anti-virus companies are responsible for doing such, or maybe.

*rolleyes*
ibig mo bang sabihin na when i happen to uderstand this 'security hardening thingy', nasa linux environment ako?

it's an old notion actually.. meaning sabi sabi lang. parang kwentong nagpasalin salin lang sa mga dila ng henerasyon na ang mga doctor may kakuntsabang quack doctor to make people sick. and a lot of people used to believe that.
but in this time and age, nothing is impossible. maaaring may underground group ang mga anti-virus making companies para kumita but then again, hindi natin pedeng lahatin at hindi natin pedeng i-claim yun until there's someone who'll stand up and admit it. :)

siguro nabibilang ito sa mga tinatawag na "urban legends".. its logical nga naman isipin na ang mga antivirus company rin ang gumagawa ng viruses... but think of it... a conspiracy like this would involve a lot of people (programmers, techies).. dont you think sooner or later may mag-eexpose nito? unless of course na lahat ng taong involve ay pinapatay or binubura ang isipan (paycheck)..:D
bakit security hardening kasi part din dun nakailangan mo pag aralan pano gawin ang mga bagay like viruses, trojans, worm s at kadalasan n2 ang gamit para ma compile n2 is linux....kasi may bulit in perl..c etc...compiler sya... unlike sa microsoft wlang kasama..minsan kailangan mo pa bilhin like visual basics...
alam mo nmn ang tao mas gus2 FREE... kaya kadalasan Linux programmer... at ka2lad ng snabi ko kadalasan mga taong hate ang microsoft...like me LOL
aminin ko scripter din me nuon before me tumutok sa web development:O

In the back of my mind, I've always thought anti-virus companies paid a select group of programmers to create viruses in order to stay in business... And that is my two cents on it...;)

hello zionchild,
with hundreds of exploits springing out everyday, i dont think antivirus companies have enough time to create their own. take for example in zero day attack, antivirus companies race and be the first to release a patch. and debugging it is not an easy task and most security holes are still left unpatch, only informing customers some workarounds. you can help your software vendors by reporting bugs, crashes, etc. before someone gets their dirty hands on them.

You know peeps, all this talk is really amusing and would probably be a nice movie scenario. But no matter how realistic claims may be - without documented proofs or statistics to support any claim... it will simply be (in this modern age), plain tsizmiz:D

for me, haka-haka pa rin yan at walang sapat na basehan... kaya as v_wrangler said, tsismis lang yan dudong... :D :p
