I have been using the Suica teiki (digital train pass card) for many years until I shifted to the mobile suica last month. I love it!
I used to carry my mobile phone and suica teiki wherever I went but now only carry my mobile phone. I can ride my regular trains using my mobile suica activated phone to pass through the station gates easily. I also have the mobile suica loaded with money which i can use at any establishment with a suica touch pad to pay for goods or services.
Perhaps one of the downsides to mobile suica is if I drop, lose, break my mobile phone. I won't be able to use the mobile suica if this happens. Then again, if I lose my wallet, that's about the same effect anyway.

For the benefit of others not familiar to the word "Suika (http://www.jreast.co.jp/suica/about/index.html)".
Suica (http://www.jreast.co.jp/suica/about/index.html) (スイカ,) is a rechargeable contactless smart card (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_card) used as a fare card on train lines in Japan. The card is also increasingly being accepted as a form of electronic money (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_money) for purchases at stores and kiosks within train stations.
At present, hindi lang within train stations na pwedeng gamitin ang suika but is also now extended to major stores in Tokyo and Kawasaki like Lazona, Sakuraya and Bic Camera.
A: Pwedeng pambayad.
A: Hindi totoo. Pwede kang kumuha ng sarili mong suica card doon mismo sa vending machine on train stations. Walang required id or documents.
A: It is completely interchangeable with Pasmo card.
This is very convinient when you are changing train platforms.
In general, gusto kong gamitin ang suica, card type or integrated on mobile phones kasi walang naiipong barya sa coin purse.
