Sending ALL kids to school, kung puede nga sana we copy the North Korean style na i dorm ang mga bata sa school para di ma influence sa parents and other environments that might help mold their future.

its a good thing that the govt has been payin attention on that but i dont think its nuff unless they work on more serious areas. oo nga at konti lang ang nakakapagaral dahil sa kahirapan ng buhay. but even graduates end up unemployed or work wit a job that aint their profession at all. then most of us have no choice but to go abroad cuz of the huge difference in compensation.

if only the govt can do sumthin too bout these problems:

overpopulation - if the govt will be able to control the population growth, they will be able to focus on improvin the economy. less mouths to feed, less problems.

agriculture - at least mabibigyan ng trabaho ang ibang mahihirap na limited ang skills. hindi na rin tayo magiimport ng ibang goods that we used to export.

corruption - eto ang pinakamahirap sa lahat. if only people could be wiser nuff sa pagboto. we cant trust anyone anymore pero sana naman we vote those who are less of an evil.

haaayy i dont want to sound pessimistic...but unless our countrymen would only have a sense of discipline, any law, any step our govt will take would be a success. problem din kasi politicians point fingers on each other. people blame the govt. next thing we know, may EDSA Nth part na naman. hay buhay

15 years is a big joke.

30 years they say, and we'll be where Bangladesh is.

Give or take, 50-75 years.

Agriculture? Nah. While we are primarily (and originally) an agricultural country, it is too late to "revive" the sector. We are better off focusing on new trends like technology and manufacturing.

"we copy the North Korean style na i dorm ang mga bata sa school"
... Is that why the No. Korean society is so rich and prosperous? dorm all students?

"para di ma influence sa parents"
... Don't know about you but my parents were a good influence.

Sounds like a communist approach.
Most of us know what happened to the communists.
Think Russia, Cuba, North Korea, China, and see if that's where you want to live.

i think 15 years is not enough, it will take a long time. Pero okay nman ang mga pinoy when it comes to education, yun nga lang ang problema walang pera to go to school and study.... I think the government should focus on giving scholarship grants to poor but deserving students... Para mabigyan ng equal opportunity ang mayaman at mahirap when it comes to education...

Well, lucky you abakitba. My point is for all the people in Pinas. Nasa kinder pa tinuroan na how to cross a pedestrian lane. So papano yan sa Pinas? My apologies for this radical thought (lang). Suerti nga lang tayo ano but in fairness pinaghirapan din nating mag aral. Peace!

I suppose they could put you in charge of the less fortunate ;) ?

I do feel lucky, thank you, even blessed, for what my parents did for me.
And I'm glad that I didn't live in a communist society...
and was allowed to leave the Philippines to make my own destiny,
and not let some bureaucrat or politician decide what is good for me.
Appreciate your thoughtful reply.
Salamat kaayo bai.

Not enough!!!

I dont even agree on North Korean's style of education, that style will not fit the democratic minds of Filipinos.... that might even teach Filipinos to be submersive.

I believe the Khmer Rogue tried something similar to your proposition... ended with the deaths of almost TWO million people.

Sending ALL kids to school, kung puede nga sana we copy the North Korean style na i dorm ang mga bata sa school para di ma influence sa parents and other environments that might help mold their future.

I'm not saying you advocate murdering their parents, but it still scares me that one can think like this... even if only a joke. I take comfort in the fact that you describe it as 'disturbing.'

Open our markets to outside products, end protectionism, ease up on taxes, cut back on government programs, shut down some govt agencies, allow people to immigrate, and we should prosper.

i think no, not enough kahit pa siguro more than that,........... kung wala ring disiplina ang concerned citizen, and the problem is makatapos man sila me trabaho ba?

let me set an example with me, after i graduated highschool nakipagsapalaran ako sa manila, i work daytime and go to school nighttime. after i graduated dahil di naman ako honor student walang trabaho ang interested sa akin sa philippines, so i decided to work abroad. pero marami ba ang katulad ko na kung di sila mapaaral ng magulang ay mag seself supporting? at kung meron man, meron bang trabaho ang maibibigay? ng gobyerno, lalo na siguro ngayon dahil sa over population tayo.
