Do I need to finalize??

I can play on my PS2 the dvd I burned but can't play on the standalone dvd player. I checked the dvd player's manuel for media compatibility but the cd I used to burn a movie is compatible with my dvd player, so I think there is no problem with that. I tried to searched the possible problem over the net and read about finalizing using the dvd recorder used to burn the dvd. but I can't find any FINALIZE button or something on my dvd recorder's menu. :confused:

To the computer experts naman dito can you help me with this? I will do appreciate any advice.

^what burning tool/s are you using?

normally, the "finalize" option can be found just before you start to burn data on the media ;)

I'm using NERO burning ROM.:)

Oo nga no, nasa compilation pala yung finalization check box:O nakadefault na siya. Meaning nafinalized na burned dvd ko pero baket kaya ayaw maplay sa annoying DVD player ko.

kung Nero Gamit mo try mo check un video option bka kasi dun ang problema kasi dati din ganyan sakin ayaw magplay ng mga naiburn ko na movie sa DVD galing Japan tpos ginawa ko tiningnan ko un Video option tpos ginawa ko ginawa ko sya na Jpan NTSC ayon nagburn ulit ako gumana nman

sa may baba nakalagay un nakalagay more click mo un tpos video option hindi kasi ako marunong mag copy ng window para makita dito sa screen eh paturo nman sa nakakaalam para maipost ko dito

hindi ko din alam magcopy ng window. ang alam ko lang print screen :D pero hindi ko alam kung saan siya masasave:O
hindi kaya natrial lang ako kaya hindi ko makita yung video option na yan.:confused:

I have the feeling the problem has something to do with that dvd region kasi gamit kong tools eh english tapos yung player ko japan made. Paano ko ba malalaman kung nasa DVD region ang problem at paano ko po masosolve ito??:confused:

hehe thanks, wait na nga lang me sa mga expertssssss dito na patingin tingin lang ayaw sumagot hehe JOKE3. DVD region killer? may nabasa ako its either change ko yung yung DVD player to region free or change ko yung DVD player that is not supporting PAL into NTSC using ConvertXDVD. The question is how the heck do I kalikot the DVD player??:confused: Ang alam ko lang kalikutin eh yung PC:D

Tama ka nga trial version lang kasi gamit ko kaya siguro hindi ko magamit yung full features ng NERO na yan. Sayang naman thanks pa din ha. I'll try to look for other ways to change this region thingy:D がんばろう

tapos mamili ka ng region dito tapos burn mo ulit kung gagana na kasi ganito din un ginawa ko noon ang dami ko pa nasayang na DVD kabuburn pero ng naichange ko ok na sana makatulong:D

Iro_otoko13, if it's a DVD region issue, you'll get a message from the DVD player like "Wrong region". I doubt it's a region issue kasi you just burned that DVD, meaning it does not have any region coding.

I've had the same issue a long time ago. My Japanese DVD player won't play my DVD movies burned from my writer. I later found out that the label was the problem. Palagi ko kasing nile-labelan mga DVD's ko. Back then, I was using this label na didikit mo lang sa DVD. If it's not properly centered it creates an imbalance when the disc is spinning making it hard for the DVD to read the disc. I'm now using printable DVD's kaya I don't have that issue anymore. Naglalagay ka ba ng labels?

My advice would be to try your disc on another DVD player. Pagnagwork, baka yung DVD player mo may read problems na. There are also DVD players that are very picky, ayaw basahin yung cheap DVD discs so I would also recommend buying higher quality discs. I hope this helps.

Hi Shuji san, I searched more infos about region and PAL/NTSC thingy. I am using Japan made dvds, writer and player so I have the feeling that the problem has nothing to do with the region and system thing. Probably, its on the dvds I am using to burn, but I doubt it too because I am using Mitsubishi media which is compatible naman sa Dvd player ko according sa Manual as i read it. Just to make sure I will try to burn using a different cd-r but the same process and see if there will be a change. I will also try to play the dvd's I burned on different DVD player not my PS2 for more testing:)

Yeah I tend to use labels to easily know which is which.

BTW, Is there a difference between the 3 in 1 Recorder (VHS,HDD,DVD) and DVD player alone? I am using the 3 in 1 thing. I wonder if this has something to do with the error?

To give more Info's on the problem I am facing with this burned cds? I did an experiment. Here it is.

I am using dvd-rw(victor and maxell) and dvd-r(mitsubishi and tdk). I insert and tried to play the DVD in two different condition. EMPTY and BURNED condition.

EMPTY Condition:

mitsubishi and tdk "cannot play this disk" appears

BURNED condition:

mitsubishi and tdk "this is an unsocial disk:O" appears i dont how to translate this properly in english but it says "規定外のディスクです" in japanese sabay automatic nageeject:confused:

haven't yet tested dvd-rw. Im planning to check it now.

Original po binuburn ko yung mga anime na inupahan ko pinagdedecrypt ko siya hanggang sa magumapaw na ang mahiwagang HD kaya nagdecide na po me magburn.

unsupported disk pala ibig sabihin nun hehehe:O Im not sure kung nafifinalize ba itong binuburn ko kasi yung ginagamit ko NERO BURNING ROM sa compilation may checkbox na "finalize" which is checked in default I guess kasi nakashade siya eh.
Probably nasa disk nia yung problem. Try ko gumamit ng cd-r victor.

Finally!! Disk Incompatibility lang pala ang problema:mad: Gumana naman yung dvd-rw I played. Tapos yung ayaw maplay naman I tried sa pioneer dvd player ng uncle ko, It played naman kaya siguro maselan lang talaga itong sharp ko kaya ayaw maplay yung dvd-r mitsubishi at tdk.
