Hi everyone! I hope you dont mind that I joined the forum even if I haven't even gone to Japan. The truth is I want to go there someday. I am a college student at the University of the Philippines and I am going to graduate on October with a degree on Organizational Communication. Hopefully I will find a job that will bring me there. (But now that immigration policies are tightening, I may not be able to 'live the dream' so to speak.)
My interest with Japan started because when I was young (6-10years old), I had Japanese friends in Makati. Unfortunately, my family moved to Paranaque and we lost contact. But my fascination with Japan remained strong. What with my experiences with "Ohayo, Konichiwa, and Konbanwa (tama po ba? nakalimutan ko na eh :p )" with matching bow diba whenever my friends' fathers would pass by. Hehehe. :)
I opened the package excitedly..., tapos something caught my eye- "Hmm ano 'to?" Na-dazzle ako sa kulay niya. I popped it into my mouth, and...KABOOM! Nagluha ako ng matindi and I experienced my very first MIGRAINE. WASABI PALA! :D Dapat may warning yun eh. Masyadong nakakahumaling ang neon green na kulay niya!
I think my early experience with wasabi warped my genes in such a way that, well..., let's just say na pwede nakong sumali sa fear factor kung yun ang papakainin sa contestants. Fear of wasabi is not a factor for me. Haha! (wag sana kayo ma-gross sa hidden talent ko :D!)
Sigh! Those were the days! Of course, di lang ganoon kababaw ang aking fascination with the Japanese. I also respect their discipline. Kaya lang, I was so disappointed when I found out that they discriminate Filipinos. Hmpf! Oh well, sometimes we have to admit that we are to blame din because of the image we show the world, manifestations of 3rd world desperation. But dont get me wrong, I love our country. "Ibon man may layang lumipad..." Oops wrong song! ;)
Kaya nga I am glad that despite these obstacles, you guys are out there proving to them that many Filipinos are matatalino at magagaling! Keep up the good work!
I hope that by joining this forum I will get to know more about Japan. By reading your daily experiences, it's like you're bringing me there na rin. I hope, too, that I can get some tips on how to get there by learning about how you managed to get there and work there too.
Sorry, mejo mahaba na yata itong post ko. well, hanggang sa muli! Si Yani Santos po ito. Toodles! :)
