Monbusho Scholarship: Direct Application to the Professor

Hello friends,

Sa pagkakaalam ko po ay may 2 procedure to avail Monbukagakusho Scholarship program, application through the embassy and application direct to your potential Professor in Japan. I just want to ask about the later. Sino po ba sa inyo ang nasa pangalawang kategorya? Ano po ba ang mga procedures? Sa pagkakaalam ko po ay you apply as a research student, can you also extend for both Masters and Doctors Course?

as research student muna... nandito na kasi ko sa Japan... Natry ko na mag email sa professor sa isang University...

nag email ka sa professor . tapos paano yung application sa monbusho. ikaw ang nagsabi sa kanya o sya ang nagsabi sayo? Paano mo finorward and application form for the scholarship? Mastes ba or Phd and plano mo after after the research student term?

una nag inquire ako through email dun sa info center nung university...
then pinadalhan ako nung cataloque... (dalawa yun, 1 for the scholarship then 1 para sa pagpasok mismo sa university in japan..) tapos sinend nga saken yung application form na nasa MS Word format... Nandun na pati rules, requirements, etc..
Then sabi nila and as stated sa mga andun sa cataloque, since research student muna ang aapplyan ko, kailangan kumontak ng isang professor na magiging adviser mo... Actually pwede na agad na dumiretso sa Masters degree, kaso NIHONGO ang manner of instruction, eh since WAKARIMASEN pa..(hehe)
Stick to plan A muna na maging research student....
Kailangan na mamili ka ng ireresearch mo then mag email ng professor na may related research or ginagawang study sa interest mo...
I emailed the professor and mabilis lang magreply kahit English...
Im working out tungkol sa schedule now.. Kasi may trabaho rin ako.. Baka magpaalam muna sa HR namin then ieemail ko ulit yung INFO center nung University kung anung sched, ang iaallow nila....
Balak ko sana, kahit once per week na half day.. since research lang naman....


About sa scholarship, meron ka nang pwede applyan before pumasok sa University... parang magiging scholar ka na or sure na ang scholarship mo bago ka pa pumasok....
Then pwede rin na humanap ka nalang ng scholarship right after na makapasok ka na sa University...

Ayun po ang mga nalalaman ko.... Sana makapasok nga rin ako....
At para may maiuwi naman ako sa ating BAYAN..hehehe... PATRIOT ah!

about your last question, yes, you could extend your research student status to Masters as long as you pass the Masters exam given by the university you want to enter.

Ako po nasa first category, pero may kilala ako na nasa second category, nag-apply sya directly sa school, kumontak ng professors thru e-mail, tapos nagtanong about the scholarship na pwede nya applyan ang nangyari hindi sya mombusho pero mas malaki pa sa monbusho ang scholarship na tatanggapin nya, I think somewhere in Niigata ang destinasyon nya in June, MA agad sya. Ang suggestion then ay mag-apply ka sa university na kakaunti ang international students na nag-aapply, pag masyado kasi kayo marami tight ang competition. Kung engineering student ka or law, alam ko naghahanap ng mga students ngayon ang Fukuoka University, for details visit their website, sorry kailangan mo nga lang search thru the net kasi wala rin akong access. naku e wakarimasen ako sa Nihongo kasi eh kaya di pa raw pwede dumiretso sa Masters... kaya tyaga na muna as research student...
