@Stanfy
Akala ko sumakay ka sa chopper when you took these shots. May flying courses pala just in case you wanted to try. Here's the official site (http://www.excel-air.com/english/cruising/index.html).

Nope, 'didn't ride a chopper. But rode the world's fastest elevator (http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3200.html), holding the Guiness record for its speed of 750 meters-per-second.
Kung may pera ako, I'd like to try the flying courses. Come to think of it, I haven't seen the chopper lately. The heliport is quite visible from here (lower left). I thought the chopper was used for patrolling the water - in case there are drug traffickers out there. :cool: :D

Stanfy is so good at taking pictures all she needs is a point-and-shoot camera (Canon S80) to take these amazing pictures.
Remember, it's not the camera, it's the person using it. ;)

@Kanlungan,
Sorry, I wasn't able to respond to your post earlier. Paul is right, I used Canon Powershot S80. I recommend Leica D-LUX / Lumix LX1
I just like taking pictures (thank goodness for digital gadgets :thumb:). The only photography lesson I had was the course I took when I was in high school, which was ages ago - panahon pa ng dinasaurs. :D I used the first generation Canon F1 then.
@Paul,
Got me blushing there for a second or is it rosacea?... got me busted on my gender, too.
How's Vito? How about posting more photos for us to admire :) .
@Panzar327,
Just keep taking pictures and you'll develop your style. Digital pictures won't cost you anything, I mean no need for developing or such. Think of Feng Shui (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feng_shui) when you take pictures - it applies to photography as well.
Happy shooting!
Thanks all for the compliments! :wavey:

@Paul... your right, "it's not the camera, it's the person using it." mine is the latest leica d-lux2, but i doubt if i could shoot those of stanfy's! some basic photography lessons might help. i guess. have any here in japan or any website for this?
@stanfordmed... thanks for the reply. keep posting your portfolio. am learning from them, somehow.

Dude, you've got a D-LUX 2. Go out and shoot! That's too expensive a camera to waste. Just curious, why did you get the Leica D-LUX 2 instead of the Panasonic DMC-LX1? It's the same camera, right? Except for the price, that is.
Anyway, there are a lot of basic photography lessons on the internet these days. Try to google it and you'll get a lot of hits. But if you want to learn from other pinoy photographers, try PinoyPhotography.org (http://www.pinoyphotography .org). Lots of helpful people there and good photogs, too. Meron ding mga makukulit siyempre :).
Sorry stanfy, medyo na-OT.
C'mon, everyone here at TF knows you're a superb photographer. No need to be humble.
Sorry 'bout the gender buster (somehow that didn't come out right :D), didn't think you'd want people to mistake you for a hot-blooded macho man :shutup:.
Haven't been taking any pics worth posting lately. Too cold in these parts. And the only time the sun's out and warm enough is when I'm inside the lab :(.
BTW, Vito's fine. He's becoming super kulit these days. He just turned 1 year and 2 months and he's already trying to own his Mom's camera. :)

@Paul... no much time for shooting, only on weekends. should really go out come spring for a comprehensive "test drives" of this machine! thanks for the website (pinoy photography), this is really of help. except for the price, the famous "red" logo, and the simplicity (no grip), just wanna share what other users say about the difference:
"... there is a difference between the two ... The lens coating on the two cameras is different which accounts for the DL2 having a more natural colour balance. (I have used both cameras so I can say this from personal experience).
With the DL2 one also gets an extended warranty and better software. However, you will be happy with whichever of the two cameras you end up buying. " (taken from leica customer digital forum)
well, i ended up buying D-LUX2

i already had been there once. have had dinner in a steak house there. pero limot ko yung name nung resto. at nasakyan ko na nga rin yang sobrang bilis na elevator na yan. great place!

@ Kanlungan,
Oo nga tama si Paul. You have that nice and expensive camera, so use it to the max! :rolleyes: Lug that baby with you everywhere you go and just start shooting like there's no tomorrow or... pretend you're a Japanese tourist :whistle: .
@ Akiam,
What a coincidence! Ako rin kumain ng steak sa Mangia Mangia Restaurant on the fifth floor, overlooking Cosmo World.
This was taken from that restaurant:

The picture was not taken in RAW format - it's in JPEG file. Raw image format is not available on the PowerShot S80 or almost all pocket cameras (except the high end ones). Lucky you, your camera can take raw format :).
How about posting some shots from your D-LUX 2?
