I think may problema ang mga Pinoy when it comes to enterpreneurship..Hi ndi tayo tulad ng mga Instik na masyadong agressive and brave in starting business or even when it comes to investing our savings in business...Sana we can start on that thread..Like maybe we can ask our fellow Kababayans who are successful businessmen or enterpreneurs as to which type of businesses are most successful for small investments or as start-up undertakings?
Mga kababayan, share naman kayo oh..how you save your income or how you invest them wisely..so we can improve our business acumen as Pinoys....and help our economy back home..
Being a salaryman is only as good as our youth or our health..but we willnot remain young forever ...We need a good nest egg to retire on..and for our children to receive as legacy..
There are lots of Business we can do especially the enactment of new Corporate Law of Japan effective May 2006. We can have Professional Management Consultancy (Immigration, Business, Investment, Capital Market), International Trading. Actually we are forming an International Corporation early this year with my former schoolmates/associates in International School in Japan that will involve in different Business Ventures. If you are interested you can email me anytime aocartas@yahoo.com . Some of my collegues are still in Japan, at present i am base here in Philippines with one of the Board of Directors/Stockholders of Phil-Japanese Joint Venture Manufacturing Company located in Quezon Province involve in manufacturing different coconut products and byproducts already have an international market penetration like in U.S., Canada, European Countries and Asia. if u are interested I can appoint you as Japan Representative. Our products are Coconut Virgin oil, Coconut Flour, CME (Coconut Methly Esther/Biodiesel) all of this products are using modern technology and Japan has a very big demand especially CME because of Kyoto Protocol, Coconut Virgin Oil for Medicinal Use, etc/ Coconut Foulkr for Bread, Pastries, Noodles, etc. Here from you soon.

Is a good place to start.
Applying for the permit - which is actually creating a company - is not that difficult.
1/ One has to have at least a permanent resident status (eijuuken),
OR
2/ invest in a business than has 5M yen or more shihonkin and can employ at
least 2 Japanese national, if my memory serves me right
The latter will result to one acquiring an investor status.
Good luck to all !! Stir up your business appetites.
Who knows, some excellent business ideas might cross your way.
Yes , getting the necessary permits are not difficult and it is easier compare here in the Philippines especially this coming May even the required necessary Minimum Required Capital of 3M Yen for Yugen Kaisha will be abolished it will be 1 Yen and it is not Yugen Kaisha anymore new name will be GODO KAISHA , you can get all the necessary info from JETRO's webpage. The problem are resources and marketing, anyway I hope and pray for your new business ventures.

I know one (Japanese) company that culture pearl in the Philippines.
I will not be suprised if there are others. Baka may makita kayo na
source ng unprocessed pearls sa Pilipinas na rin, para wala ng overheads
at import duties.

May this year yata, as amir wrote.
I do not know the process, but I think pwedeng i-convert ang yuugen gaisha to kabushiki kaisha. From what I remember, the latter requires at least 3 torishimariyaku (directors) one of the three will be the torishimariyaku daihyou (shachou).
Kailangan din yata ng accountant, pero pwede yatang mag-hire na lang ng services on a per demand basis.
