About a year ago I've looked into this website where service providers and service buyers meet but I just ignored it because I am busy with work and at the same time I was still into college.
Just a few days ago, I decided to visit the website again and it is still alive with more service buyers (more projects), more service providers. I registered again, tried bidding on projects and, luckily I got 2 clients with 2 simple work each and now I have $100 in my account. Not big but its a good way to augment my income.

It is free to sign up and membership is free forever however, for every project that goes to you (or is awarded to you by a service buyer), the website takes $5 or 10% of the project cost(which ever is higher). You have the option to upgrade to gold member (fee is $10 every month). $10 is deducted from your account, if no enough balance your account goes back to 'free member' status.
I will give you tips on how you could win in biddings. In the website, there are lots of freelancers(service providers). Some of them already have gained the eyes of the service buyers(the clients) and it is really difficult to compete with them but, I started just last week, no client knows me, I dont have anyone vouching for my skills, but I was surprise I did won on my first bid! How did I achieved it?
1. I know, I could do the project but there were so many bids posted. The client has not yet chosen anyone among the bids and I noticed bids are higher than the minimum bid. I place my bid choosing the lowest bid possible.
2. I came up with a "mock-up" design (a banner to be specific). I made the banner just as what the client want it.
3. I PMed the client and told him, 'I made a sample for the banner you like'. I gave the link to the sample. I told him also that, 'If you like the sample, give me the project and in 2 to 3 hours I'll give you the final product'
And that's it. He awarded me the project and I was happy he was satisfied with the result. He even give me another work and that is another $30!
I was happy, that a novice in the website like me, could actually outbid those who have been there for months! (will, i have to suffer a little though, giving the lowest bid, but that's how competition is)
I got another client, paying me $60 for a website banner and header done in FLASH.
You think you can do it too? If you got skills and some spare time, you will make money here, that's for sure.
If you need my help, just post here. I want you, my fellow pinoy be known. The website is international. This is also one way of promoting Pinoy IT workforce, their skills and competent in the IT market.
