Nikon D50

To all the photographers here in Timog, Nikon has just released the new D50 (http://nikonimaging.com/global/news/2005/0420_02.htm). It's cheaper, lighter, and according to this review (http://www.dpreview.com/articles/nikond50/) , it has more advanced features than the D70 that was released just less than 2 years ago. Nikon has also released the new D70s (http://nikonimaging.com/global/news/2005/0420_01.htm) .

I'm wondering how much this D50 will cost when it lands on the market. At present, the D70 has dropped to around 70,000 yen (body), according to the prices posted in Amazon Japan (http://www.amazon.co.jp) . If it goes for just less than 50,000 yen (body), it will certainly be a steal, esp. for those who have lots of Nikon lenses but still haven't crossed over to the digital side --- like me.

My stomach is churning...

ayon doon sa isang site na nakita ko (http://dc.watch.impress.co. jp/cda/dslr/2005/04/20/1408.html), mga 100,000 yen ang D70s at 90,000 naman ang D50. ayon naman sa kakaku.com (http://www.kakaku.com/sku/price/005016.htm), ang selling price ng D70s ay around 80,000 (plus). around 80% ito ng set price. kaya kung 80% din ang selling price ng D50, mga 72,000 yen ito, na halos pareho lang ng D70.

siyempre, hindi ko sigurado ito. sana nga around 50,000 yen kung gusto nilang mag-compete sa bagong Digital Kiss ng Canon. nagamit ko na ang bagong Digital Kiss at hindi ko lang gusto ang handling at finder. pero ang quality ng mga pictures (8 megapixels vs 6 megapixels ng D50), mas maganda kesa sa D70 na gamit ko. :)

Kung halos pareho lang ang presyo ng D50 at D70, then I'll probably study both models more before deciding. Nonetheless, ang paglipat sa digital is not urgent for me dahil wala naman akong masyadong shoots lately...hehe...

Btw, pumunta pala ako kahapon ng Akihabara at nakakita ako doon ng Nikon D1 for only 65,000 yen, halos bago pa. In terms of durability, mas matibay talaga ang model na ito, if you're willing to live with the 2.8 megapixels.

Naku, ang daming choices, kaya I'm taking my time...
