The raid yesterday at the “shabu market” (shabu is the street name for methamphetamine hydrochloride),pract ically within spitting distance of the Pasig City Hall, was a big slap on Mayor Vicente Eusebio. How was it possible for the shabu market inside a 1,000-square-meter compound in Barangay Palatiw to have existed for several years without the knowledge of the police and, well, the
honorable mayor? READ FULL ARTICLE HERE... (http://news.inq7.net/metro/index.php?index=2&story_id=65793&col=31)
This is what I saw from the news last time. I was in total disbelief when I heard the news report say, "300 katao ang nahuli"... Parang, what? That many people? Tsk tsk... I also read na the police rescued a 12 year old pregnant girl in the vicinity. My goodness, grabe naman parents ng batang ito, naluto na yata sa shabu. I mean, bakit mo ititira dun ang anak mong dalaga eh compound pala yun ng mga durugista. I live in Pasig so this case is disturbing for me.
IMO, the authorities couldn't NOT have known. They were probably in on the whole thing. The local govt. of the municipality headed by no less than Hon. Eusebio must be grilled at once, include those PNP Officials hounding the area.
What do you think people?

Kudos for policemen from Camp Crame and Camp Bagong Diwa.
Double slap on Mayor Eusebio and Pasig City Authorities who should've taken care of this issue.

.. I guess that's what happens when you live/work in a country such as Japan ( or any other first world nation for that matter) ; the environment gets to be almost perfect that you wish this was the case in the Philippines.
.. Don't believe everything you read about in the papers (Philippine media especially) ; either the figures are bloated or sanitized.. it's all about gov't accomplishments; they need everything to window dress their sagging image.
.. I guess when you've lived in the Philippines for so long,at the end of the day ..nothing ever really surprises you anymore.
And oh, can you just imagine what they don't report in the papers?? nothing is impossible in the Philippines ..everything is about money..money..money. lots of it.

Nga pala, the Mayor had ordered the demolition of the shanties inside the compound. I think na-demolish na siya kahapon. Oo nga naman, para walang ebidensya
Grabe talaga ang place na to'. May Prices pa nakalagay sa "Menu" like 50 peos if 3 kayo... Naku nalimutan ko ang prices at kung ilan ang tao. So frustrating talaga. :(
300 ka tao nahuli?
I smell fish.
Most probably sensationalized reporting. Or another so called and most famous by word "typo error"?
Maitanong lang po. Is the Honorable Mayor connected with the administration?
If it is otherwise, then the fish might be rotten.
@docomo san
about the PI media matters, you've said loud and clear.

"...A resident in the area I interviewed said the compound had been there for several years now. From the compound, one can see the back of the City Hall..."
Dun ako nagulat, ang bilis ng clean-up. Madami siguro ang madadamay... hindi ba pwedeng kasuhan yung mga nag demolish? obstruction of justice or something? diba bawal galawin ang crime scene hangan bukas pa investigation.. ganun sa CSI eh... aliw siguro mag karoon ng CSI manila na show...hehehe.

Shabu Flea Market is located a few hundred meters from city hall and they didn't know it?
1 + 1 = 2 lang yan. Who are they fooling anyway? The dead?
Something's bugging me though... Dami kasing drug bust lately... At sunod sunod pa ang drama nila. Should i be relieved? Alarmed? Or what? These are hard-core drug factories. Then ngayon lang na busted:confused: Man, where were the authorities? Sleeping on their job? Or merely tasting the wares muna to see if the stuff is real?
