halu tash!
since wala nga snow sa pinas i want to experience that too! parang ang saya diba? hay when kaya? hehe uy sa mga naka experience na share naman kayo at kung saan maganda na place mag snowboarding;)
The first time I tried snowboarding was ten years ago when it was just starting to become popular here in Japan. Got hooked on it eversince. There's quite a number of slopes less than an hour's drive from where I live so it's quite easy to go snowboarding.
I used to go snowboarding almost every week each season when I was still single. My boarding buddy was another pinoy here but he already left Japan. Jangle Jungle (http://jj.mountain-j.com/course/course.html) in Yamagata is where I frequently go snowboarding. Unfortunately, they're closed this season because of a rockslide last year that blocked access to the ski resort :(. They also had a snowboard cross course there which was quite fun. The snowboard cross course at the Torino Winter Olympics is quite crazy, though. I don't think I'll survive that :D.
I liked spending time on the kickers but never really got into the half-pipe and the park. I also loved riding off-piste even though it's not allowed on most slopes. One of my dreams is to go heli-boarding. A helicopter drops you off the top of a mountain peak and you're free to ride down the virgin powder of the mountain slope.
If you're around Sendai and wanna go snowboarding, just tell me. I'll gladly join you if I have the time and my kumander gives me permission :).

Nothing beats nice steep carves on a powder day.
Hokkaido someday, where the powder is deep and dry!

Sorry po'.
But when I discover something wonderful, I try to convince my friends to give it a try.
But cost is a serious limiting factor for many.
Helps to be in a place near the resorts of course.
Good luck. Let us know when you have ridden (fallen:D ).
Your first carved turn will be orgasmic, better than sex in many ways:p

Surfing is good but there are only two or three reliable surf spots (that we know of) in the Philippines... Surigao and La Union, and perhaps Batangas.
I'm not a surfer but a windsurfer and when the opportunity comes, perhaps I will switch to kiteboarding.
I think the Germans who run the sailing places in Boracay have had kiteboards for a while now.
Don't know too many other places sa Pinas where people sail on boards.
Don't know if I'll ever make the switch, since it comes with more cost and I already have too many vices.
But RODSKI whatever sports you take up... I wish you good luck and have fun:D
BTW, they are now joining kites and snowboards... let's you go up the mountains, and no lift tickets! Guess will just have to find wind and snow! and No trees...

You're right! Zambales... I think Batangas may have been a mistake.
Thank you for your generous offer of travel.

when i was in toyama, i used to go to ski some resort there. maganda rin sa HAKUBA. napakalaki. marami sa bandang niigata and nagano. i learned ski not snow boarding kasi mahirap daw iyon compare to ski at maraming accident na nangyayari sa snow boarding. at nong pumunta nga kami sa ski resort, talaga naman pag may inanounce na aksidente is gawa ng snow boarding. so i stick to skiing po. its fun, nong first time ko eh talaga namang dirediretso sa baba. pag di ko mapreno eh, sinasadya ko sumemplang. pero kimochi ii talaga. matagal na rin kong di nakakapag ski. maybe pag may nagyaya at have a free time, i can go again. try mo, tiyak na mageenjoy kayo.
