Has anybody tried " dot it yourself shaken " procedure in Japan? How did you do it? Can you please share tips on this?
Our car's shaken will expire this month and I have actually been with a Chinese lady car dealer who did it by herself..She paid the tax, had the car batteries and
lights, brake, and electric fucntions checked at some carshop and paid less than the average shaken..But..she also did the filling up of the Japanese papers..
If you can share any experience on "do it yourself shaken" in this forum, will really
appreciate it...

Biggest thing is to get ready for the inspection. Maghanap ka ng "reputable" shop for a pre-inspection. They will try to fix any problems and clean up your engine area to get it "shaken" ready. Going through the inspection site is farily easy.
The forms are self explanatory assuming you know some Japanese. One new thing is the recycling fee that just started last year, fees are based depending on how old your vehicle is, there is a computer terminal that helps you determine cost. All the other fees are straightforward like road tax and etc.
The link above tells you about the inspection process.
Hope this helps. :)

Thanks sa link Mustang at kay chameleon for opening this thread.

Pareho tayo manong Crispee.

Kung merong kayong specific na tanong I can try to help.
