I am not sure of this blog, but it looks quite authentic.
According to the blog, there was a leakage of a confidential
softbank document that contained details of the iphone's
pricing scheme.

The total price of Iphone is at a stunning 61,920 yen, spreading it over
24 monthly installments the monthly price is at 2,580 yen. However,
as in an softbank price plans there is a discount of 1,780 yen that you
can use as an allowance for your call charges. This leaves the price of
the phone at 800 yen per month or 19,200 for two years, which is
still below $200 as promised by Steve Jobs.
So are you still going to purchase it???

I guess 800 yen/month is ok enough. =)

I should've... kaso kakaapply ko lang ng phone last May... mas mahal pa nga eh
BTW, as far as I know, Softbank's price plan only covers the subscription service. Kumbaga hiwalay ang bayad sa phone. So if the 'leaked' price is correct, then the minimum you should pay would be the "2,580yen" (parang libre lang ang softbank service).

to get the best out of a smartphone.. like push mail, etc.. internet browsing.. kailangan mo ng unlimited data plan.. plus the phone plus the softbank call plan.. that will set you 10k yen per month. para sulit..

8GB Model -> Total Price = 69, 120
Monthly Fee 2880 yen
Discount 1920 yen
Actual iPhone price 960 yen X 24 = 20,340 yen
16GB Model -> Total Price = 80640 yen
Monthly Fee 3360 yen
Discount 1920 yen
Actual iPhone price 1440 yen X 24 = 34,560 yen
kailangan mo mag unlimited packet plan. Usually sa ibang smartphones
ang monthly fee is 9800 yen, pero for iphone ginawa nilang 5985 yen.
So i guess, they are really want you to apply for unlimited internet.
To buy or not to buy, that is the question:)

I was looking at the fine print of the press release and I discovered two things.
First, the iphone requires a special Sim Card, so para doon sa mga Softbank users na nagiisip na magpalit ng cellphone nila kailangan palitan ang
mga SIM cards.
The other thing is that wala daw support ng S-Mail ang iphone. Ibig sabihin
(not so sure....) Please correct me if Im wrong..

makikisali talaga ako dito since seryosong usapin ito hahaha:D
anyways kausap ko lang kanina ang staff nila na yung unlimited na usage sa net which is 5th nga need talaga yun for the iphone so compulsory in short. so if white plan daw sya you need to pay like 900 a month plus the 2,500 for 24 months then the 5th net usage so basically around 8,400 month mmmm ninuninuni :)

taka ko lang kasi nung i confirm ko sana from our local sb shop dito sa nagoya last sunday, ang sabi hindi pa rin daw sila pwedeng makapagbigay ng detailed info regarding iphone. and they are stopping reservations. swerte ko lang kasi nasa top 10 ako sa listahan nila (pero i doubt i o honor nila yung reservation ko kasi this is one hot phone imho).
this is going to be my first phone here. so my question is, especially po sa mga matagal ng gumagamit ng cellphones dito sa japan, mahal po ba yung pricing nila?
