Hello mga ka-TF. Im quite new here and have searched for threads about delivery in Japan but I cant find any that concerns those who gave birth on a military base hospital.

I'm an OFW married to a US navy but I have been covered by SHAKAI-Hoken for years until I resigned from work last year when I was 3 months preggy. I have since then enrolled myself sa National Health Insurance pero wala pa pong dumadating na babayaran for the Kokumin Hokken and I already gave birth sa military hospital, the following po are my questions and I am hoping you can help me:

Since I gave birth in a military hospital in Japan, would I still be able to get the maternity benefit na 300, 000 or 350, 000 from the city hall?
Makakakuha po ba ako nung maternity benefit na ito even wala pa akong payment sa national health insurance?Maraming salamat po. I have read somewhere here din that somebody was able to claim this same benefit even when she gave birth sa Pilipinas so Im thinking that this could apply din sa situation ko. Any inputs po would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

hello salamat po sa reply. I called the city hall po, it seems like mabait naman po yung nakausap ko and sabi nya punta na lang daw ako personal sa city hall para mag "soudan" daw especially nung sinabi kong di pa ko nakakapagbayad ng insurance. makakatanggap daw pa rin po ng maternity benefit kahit sa navy hospital ako nanganak. Will update again with more confirmed details for other kaTF later po. Thanks ulit.

I visited my city hall insurance office and mababait po sila. They approved the 350, 000 benefit po and they will just deduct the insurance premium daw. I should be getting the benefit on my account next week.

To the mods, pakiclose na lang po. salamat
