Hello crispee. So how does this work? Do we need special software for this? Or could it be an improvised auction where people just post an amount higher than the last poster?

Good evening Nick,
I am not really familiar on programming and how this vBulletin works. I assumed we have that kind of plugin or the like so....
maybe we can start with the improvised auction wherein the auctioneer sets the initial price, minimum price for every bid, and the duration of the bidding.

Just my thoughts, of course you and the other mods must have better suggestions for sure.

Thanks.

Pwede kaseng magkaroon ng 'fake' bidders, to show that bids are coming and to jack the price up. This is one of the biggest challenges of online bidding.

Mas simple yong "selling section" where the seller sell for the price he/she wants.

2/ Ganon din, kailangan ng system kung papaano magkakaroon ng reputation yong sellers at buyers, although for the long TF residents and those who met personally already can account for that.

My 2 yen thoughts.

Sana matuloy to.

I agree with d_southpaw, kailangan ng safety/security measures. This would mean a lot of work for our moderators. Malamang mangangailangan tayo ng identity verification (which would defeat the anonymous policy of TF), para maiwasan ang mga sellers na mandaraya at mga fake bidders. I have bought a few items at Yahoo Japan Auction back in 2000 or 2001 before they became strict on identity verification.

Registration is done/secured through credit card and that same card is billed for the monthly usage dues.

Auction is a very good idea for us here in Japan. Nakakatipid talaga minsan. The good thing kung tayotayo lang is the clarity of information that we will get in negotiating along the way, hindi nga gaya sa Yahoo!Jp na mahirap, kasi in Japanese.

Sana matuloy.

if ever matuloy , i think mas ok to change the thread name from TF auctions to TF marketplace. the reader might have been misled by the term 'auction' ; pag auction kasi parang highest bidder .

to make it simple , someone can post an item with the corresponding price . the seller can state for instance thet he/she is willing to part with a laptop computer for instance. the important things to post are the specs ,the condition (new as in unused, mint as in used but well taken care of, slightly used, used). the amount (specify if the item price is negotiable or firm.. as in wala ng tawad ). place of exchange (pick-up,delivery,or meet at a designated place and time). also specify that an item can be reserved for a day (for inspection purposes only) .

as always , first come first served basis ..

suggestion lang po:)

On the contrary, i believe it's better to have a bidding type auction. what if several members want to buy an item, and the one who gets to buy the item is the one with the fastest fingers? kind of unfair, don't you think?

why not post (in addition to all the details) the minimum bid and the deadline of the bids? the highest bidder, who turns out to be the most in need of that item, gets to buy it. sounds fair to me.....

but then again, we should do the whole thing in the most civil way. Just keep things within the bounds of this forum.

peace everyone.

Good evening minasan,
Maraming salamat sa mga points and suggestions. As usuall, walang bagay na madaling gawin o mag-materialize.

My point of views:

@ Dax --> Malamang mangangailangan tayo ng identity verification (which would defeat the anonymous policy of TF)

Pag dumating na yung deadline ng bidding, the highest bidder gets the item involved.

@Docomo
I will stick to TF auctions;) Mas may thrill yung bidding. And we can bid for fun.

Nick and other mods, hinihintay namin ang inyong kasagutan.

Sorry, we haven't had time to do this. We'll file this is our "Things To Do" list. In the meantime, please use the ordinary Buy & Sell section, which, though not sophisticated at all, will do for simple selling.

...Ebay.com. Actually, there's ebay philippines (ebay.ph). in case the moderators are interested to push through with this suggestion, i think it'd be good to check out ebay for ideas. i purchased something through it last December. It was okay.

I think there should be a seller registration (personal info with full name, address, contact # & other useful info) para maiwasan ang mga manloloko. :)

the mods might have no control over the purchases and transactions people make with the sellers. TF will just be the medium through which sellers will conduct their business, and i think TF wouldn't handle these transactions at all, so sana only registered sellers should be able to sell their products in this category.

just my 2 cents;)

it will be good kung magkaroon ng auction.

i think it will be too much for Mr Nick and Mr Paul to handle. It will require a great
deal of their time creating a system. hindi ko alam kung may free auction system :) meron nga ba?

kumusta kaya ang security? to make an auction work, one must be a member
a paying member. bidders have to pay too.

ilang % kaya ng TF members who will actually sell and bid? ano ang guidelines? how
to promote TF Auctions to make more traffic and eventually become the first english
auction site in japan (first nga ba)? meron na bang ibang english auction site dito?

just my thoughts po.
