I'm just passing a note from a business associate of mine. He is searching for programmers for posts in Tokyo/Osaka. The original plan was to look out for somebody fresh from the Philippines - but I doubt if he could find somebody with such proficiency in Japanese so I'm posting here as well. I'm sure the housing and the visa thingy will be arranged by the employers. If you know somebody that fits the requirement - pm me.

Sorry I missed this. Bangis - so you are in Japan now and you have a valid visa until when? The employer will be in Manila next week for the interviews and I could probably pass your resume to him when he comes back. I would like to reiterate that I have no professional interest in this particular recruitment, we only work together on other business areas and I am only advising him on Philippine issues.
Ebomar, thanks for your interest but the employment will be in Japan and we all know the immigration is quite firm on the requirements for engineers. Either she have a 10 year prior experience or a degree to support the expertise.
Regards,
Bangis

I thought I'd just bump this up. Just an update. To answer Ka Tonyang's call, here's my share: (I am not a professional recruiter BTW, my specialties are visual design and animation - just so happen that I also handle Philippine business development in my company)
So here goes:
We have a project ongoing which will require programmers with specialties in web development, JAVA, etc. etc. for deployment to various client sites. We are looking for those able to speak and understand Japanese (at least JPLT Level 3), Japan-based university graduates or would-be graduates are most welcome. I would be honest to say that we are most likely looking at those who are able to lead a team of three, and determined to go back to the Philippines in the future to continue with the business. We aren't looking for people who simply wanted to extend their visas in Japan. We consider the job posting as some sort of a training or reacquiantance with the Japanese work system. And then later have these people go back to the Philippines and work in the environment we would later setup. Our clients were previously looking somewhere in India - I just thought we pinoys can do it even better.
Unfortunately I do not have the exact figures of the compensations involved as of this date but I assure you we aren't into sweatshops that pay tingis and we do not discriminate. We consider providing housing and clothing allowances. Our goal is to create future employees in the Philippines that could be leaders able to understand Japanese expectations, and at the same time find joy in sharing their expertise to others.
For those interested in trying out, please send me a resume in Japanese and English to the following address and I will see to it that the right people get to see them:

GSTYLE INC.

Another update: Just got back from Manila after a five-day recruitment gig. Three young pinoys will be coming over to Japan before the end of the year to start their contracts. We are still searching for programmers currently in Japan, with Japanese speaking abilities. I have already setup one TF member for an interview with the employer late this month. So if you are interested and you know some people who might want to try out - please send me the resumes with contact details this week. Email me at roy[a]gstyle.co.jp. Or by fax at (011)222-3166.
I would be very happy to accomodate interested parties and set up the interview. Our first stop will be in Tokyo from the 27th of September. If you are somewhere else during that time - let me know and I will see if we can fly where you are.
The client is part of the Mitsubishi Group of Companies. We are looking for people with experience in C, C++, Java, Web System Development, etc. If you have other skills, much better.
Please pass it on.

I am Billy Buen Pantoja and I have been studying here in Japan for a year now. I think that my Japanese level would be between 3kyuu and 2kyuu. I am very interested to apply for the job opening that you have posted at the website. I am currently here in Tokyo and working as a part time English teacher. I have graduated from Saint Louis University in Baguio City Philippines with the Bachelor`s Degree in Information Technology. I graduated last October 2004. I am hoping that I would qualify for the position in your company. Moreover, I am available on the 27th of September for the job interview. I just got my visa which is good for 1 year.

Thanks blueboy, yes I received your email and will forward your resume to the employers. There is a possibility that we will postpone the interviews on 27th in order to accomodate more of those coming in from different places. I'll keep you posted thru TF for developments. Same goes to those who have emailed me - please accept my apologies for not being able to confirm receipt of your emails on time due to other priorities.
If you have questions, feel free to PM me and I will try my best to attend to them as soon as I can. Also, to protect your privacy - I'd encourage you guys to refrain from posting your real details in the forums. If you'd need to - simply use PM. I'd want to edit it for you but I have no access to the edits in the job section.
