1. nababawasan na ang traffic (lalo na sa Main Roads like EDSA, and Expressways and other busy traffic lanes)

Oil price hikes send commuters to MRT, LRT
Cathie Capila, 27, prefers taking the MRT (Metro Rail Transit) to work than driving her car. She has been alternately commuting and driving from her house in Mandaluyong City to her office in Quezon City for three years now.
Riding a passenger jeepney and the MRT would take her 40 minutes to reach the office, compared to the 35-minute drive if she brings her car. But the longer travel time is compensated by her savings.
Cathie spends a total of P40 daily when commuting; a liter of gasoline—now approaching P60—does not even last a day’s drive.
In the past few months, with fuel prices rising for the nth time, the driving populace has affirmed for most, and rediscovered for some, the economy of the mass rail transit.
Data gathered by GMA News Research from the Metro Rail Transit Corp. (MRTC) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) indicate a remarkable increase in ridership over the past five months.
LRTA and MRTC officials said a significant portion of the increase in ridership is caused by people who want an alternative to paying an average of P52 a liter for gas.
Fares in the LRT and MRT range from P10 to P15.
