if you are working here in japan as common employee or a part timer, chances are you always pay your income taxes. monthly po iyan at walang kang ligtas dahil deducted na sya. in my part, monthly nagbabayad ako ng income tax and residential tax which i think is a little bit higher and i think ganun din nararamdaman ng iba. but to think of that, i know na parang meron namang pinupuntahan iyong tax na binabayad natin dito. unlike sa atin na parang di ko naramdaman kung iyong taxes na binabayaran ko the time when i still working there is may pinupuntahan nga ba.
if you are holding an alien registration card (ARC) there is a better way you can get even with your paid taxes here in japan. this is how i get even with my paid taxes.
1) using your ARC, apply for membership in the public library located on your area.
being a member of a public library entitles you to borrow books, magazine, newpapers, cd, video, dvd and other materials available there. it is better than buying books. books here in japan are a little bit expensive ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 or more, depends on the books. here in my place, since i became a member in the public library here, di na ko bumibili ng books. bumili man ako, sa bookoff lang which cost only 100 yen. kung may gusto man akong bilhing books, i submit some request slip to the library, and they are the one who will bought it. mas OK, it doesnt cost me any cents. borrowed items in the library here has a duration of almost 2 weeks. you can also watch some movie within the library, attend some show being done there and participate in some activities like japanese lesson. thats activity doesnt cost any cents. books in the public library here has a lots of genre, i think you will found the books you are looking for.
2) use public facilities
maybe some of you go to gym to make some muscles and to refresh. if you do so, better to go to public sports facilities, it will not cost you that much. being a member in some gym here in japan like KONAMI, GOLDGYM, etc. will cost you more than 6,000 yen a month. mabigat na sa bulsa iyon. attend or not, you must pay the bill every month. but if you use the public sports facilities in your area, it will not cost you that much. here in my place, it only cost me 200 yen for every session i attended. and for that 200 yen, i can participate in aerobics, gym training, swimming, play basketball, pingpong and other activities available here. ikaw magsasawa. no time limit. so if you will go there thrice a week, it will only cost you not more than 2,500 yen a month. so much to save.
please be aware that your alien registration card is not only use to prove that you are a valid and registered foreigner here. maraming pwedeng pagkagamitan iyan. so just dont keep it on your wallet all the time. it is your pass card in some services that are available here in japan. so know your place very well. know what are available services that are free of charge there if you are registered resident on your place.:)
