Hello TF members and guest,
Stanford Hospital (http://www.stanfordhospital .com/default)and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford (http://www.lpch.org/aboutus/HistoryAndMission/index.html) have numerous nursing positions for experienced Registered Nurses and New Grads (http://www.stanfordhospital .com/employment/KeyJobs/graduateRN).
If you know anyone and want to refer prospective candidates, send me PM.
There's a $5,000.00 referral bonus if referral results in a hire and the employee remains employed for one year.
Prospective candidates must posses acceptable documents for employment (http://www.salemstate.edu/seo/docs/SEO-I-9_documentation.pdf) (legally authorized to work in the U.S.) and current R.N. license to work in the State of California.

Replace those two hospitals with any other (same sized or not?) hospital in California
(perhaps the entire USA)... and your post would still be true.
Perhaps the referral bonus might be different.
Am I right?

Hello:)
what about caregiver??
@ miles,
There are positions available for Certified Nursing Assistant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nursing_assistants)s , but not Care Givers and the referral bonus do not apply.
Positions for Care Giver and Nursing Assistant (not certified) is limited to Nursing Homes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nursing_home), Assisted Living Facilities (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assisted_living) and Hospice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hospice_care) or home care.

@ abakitba,
May be true and may apply to many hospitals throughout the U.S. with varrying referral bonus or no bonus at all.
Unfortunately, Stanford and LPCH do not recruit nurses (http://www.nurseweek.com/news/features/04-06/recruits.asp)from other countries.
Nursing shortage continues due to Nursing School shortage (http://www.nurseweek.com/news/Features/04-08/NursingSchools_print .html).

Tanong ko nga kay mother at sister if they are interested, kahit naka-settle na sila
sa Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
Hati tayo sa referral bonus ha.
Just kidding. :)
BTW, thanks for the info Stanfy.

Now I'm wondering what I posted that made you mention that to me?
OT?
California Nurses unions are one of the more powerful ones as experienced by Arnold's attempt at union busting. Don't know if this is related to your post or not.
Good luck on finding nurses.
More OT?
Policy statement from (US) Natl League of Nursing.
The present average age of employed registered nurses is 43.3 years, with registered nurses who are less than 30 years old representing only 10 percent of the total working nurse population. Go here. Might want to compare pay rate (http://crona.org/crona%20payscale%200 4-04%20to%2003-07.htm) plus benefits (http://www.stanfordhospital .com/employment/benefits/default) such as 403(b) between hospitals to see which is more favorable. Stanford and Valley Med. are both teaching hospitals, so pareho siguro ang work condition, meaning there are Med students, Interns, Residents, and all the medical teams caring for patients.
BTW, is Valley Med's nurses under union? Stanford nurses are under CRONA (http://www.crona.us/) - Filipina ang presidente (http://www.crona.us/board). She's an excellent board member and a nurse advocate. :king:
Sure, half of the bonus sa'yo. :) Bear in mind meron tax 'yan from uncle Sam.:(

I mentioned the nursing shortage and recruit because hospitals have a lot of nursing vacancies and not being filled.
As for the average age, I think there are more older nurses employed in non teaching hospitals and more younger ones employed in teaching hospitals. Just my personal observation...:)
Hi stanfordmed, iba ang naisip ko noong una kong nabasa ang "nursing positions". Ang naisip ko ay iba-ibang paraan ng pagpapasuso sa baby. Klinik ko akala ko may pictures. :bonk:
It must be the pollen here in Ibaraki. Sorry for the off-topic, please continue with the discussions. :)

Natawa ako dito sa post mo Reon-san. Ikaw talaga, 'dede' ang naisip mo kaagad!
Now that I think about it, tama ka. Maybe it would have been better if I had put nursing jobs or RN jobs in the title.
