recovering data from Mac HD

can you please give me tips on how to recover data from my HD?

yung naging problema kasi sa HD ko dati, may blinking question mark then ayaw na ma-aaccess yung HD kaya pinalitan sa apple store. marerecover ko pa kaya yung data dun?

hello michiko san,

u can recover your mac hd using dd command or disk utility. pag ayaw pa ren, try mo ung disk warrior (http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/)...

in addition to what kakkoii_daw said, you could boot your problematic mac as a firewire disk on another mac computer. a blinking question mark usually means that the computer couldn't find the operating system in which to boot on to. that means the hard disk might not be broken after all.

to force your mac into a firewire disk mode, start up your problematic mac while holding the T key. and then you will need a firewire (IEEE 1394) cable and connect your problematic mac to another mac so you could check out or back up your mac HD to the second mac computer.

napalitan na ng hard drive yung mac ko. puwede ba irecover yung sa lumang hard drive in my mac? and how do i do it? walang firewire cable na kasama yung mac bundle di ba so i have to buy it first.

puwede paturo step by step? sorry bagong mac user at first attempt ko ito sa data recovery. :D

Tingin ko dyan sira na talaga ang HD mo,bakit? Galing na ng Mac center yan di ba? They replaced with new one,meaning broken na talaga sya.

Sana you give some details kung anong klaseng "MAC" ang gamit mo. desktop ba o macbook? Regarding sa firewire cable, ginagamit lang yan kung 2 ang Mac computer mo! And sa case mo,trial and error lang yan kung maaccess pa ang hdisk mo kasi sira na nga. Another method na ginagamit yung sa loob mismo ng pc ikinakabit pero applicable lang yan sa desktop model and risky dahil pwede mong masira even your new drive kung wala kang idea sa steps .

may firewire at usb ports ang macbook michikosan, so bumili ka sa computer shops ng firewire o usb case/box at i-incase mo yung dati mong harddrive. kung sira na ang dati mong harddrive, di mo na sya maisa-salvage, pero kung ok pa naman makikita mo at maisi-save mo pa yung laman sa macbook mo kapag kinabit mo gamit ang usb o firewire interface.
