Light and good news naman tayo. Although pool (billiard) does not seem to be popular in Timog.
Nikoy won the Japan Open 2006 held last Mar 18th-19th here in Tokyo. This is the 2nd to the biggest tournament here in Japan, with the winner taking home 1.2M yen. The 2nd place was also taken by another Filipino billiard player: Dondon Razalon.

FYI, the Filipinos high level players are very popular here in Japan. Efren Reyes is regarded as the world superstar and hence admired and respected by those who know billiard. Django Bustamante is also very popular. These two are so popular that the young billiard players are now starting to change their billiard style from the typical Japanese to Filipino style.
Antonio Lining and Ramil Gallego are members of Japan Professional Billiards Association and have 'friends', mostly acquaintance level probably, but good relationship nonetheless; all over Japan - from Hokkaido to Kyushu. Warren Kiamco, Dennis Orcullo are also members of JPBA and popular as well.
We also have many other pool players who are here legally as professional pool players. They usually join smaller tournaments and pool hall tournaments.
