Dear TF Friends,
Allow me to skip the introductory greetings and invite all those who have permanent, long-term, spouse of Japanese national or working visas (humanities & international services, engineer, instructor, etc.) to try a career in teaching English.
You only need to have a four-year university degree to qualify. No need to dye your hair blonde or use colored lenses... Yes, brown-skinned Filipinos are now welcome to teach English in Japanese public schools, thanks to the trail-blazing performance of our handful of Assistant English Teachers (AET's) or Assistant Language Teachers (ALT's).
Positions are open in public elementary, junior and high schools in such places as Hitachiomiya-shi, Kasama-shi, Naka-shi, Ibaraki-machi (Ibaraki Pref); Kurobe-shi (Toyama Pref); Edogawa-ku, Meguro-ku, Hachioji-shi (Tokyo); Hakodate-shi (Hokkaido); Matsumoto-shi (Nagano); Isezaki-shi (Nagano); and many other prefectures.
These positions are open as early as April this year, with more possibly opening up in the coming months. Those who are open to relocation are especially welcome, although we could consider the area of your present residence for placement.
Standard remuneration is YEN 200,000 upwards.
Just send your resume to my private email, fax to 029-852-4127 or mail to the following:

dear selina,
Our client company has positions open, immediately and in the near future, in many prefectures all over Japan, including Shizuoka.
We are trying to match the placement with the applicant's present location, but we cannot assure you of availability in your immediate vicinity. In the extreme case, your options are putting up with reasonable commutation or relocation.
I appreciate your prompt response. Please send a simple resume by email to unijobs2006@yahoo.co m or by fax to 029-852-4127.
Since we will reformat to Japanese standard all resumes, the information we need are basically the following:
Full Name
Date of Birth
Present Address
Contact Address (if different from above)
Educational Background (from elementary)
Career Background
Special qualifications/licenses/awards/certificates
Type of Visa
We would also appreciate if you could attach a JPEG file of your portrait. Since positions are available starting April, we would appreciate if you could send your resume immediately so we could schedule an interview at our office closest to your place. Thanks!

baka puede mong ipaalam sa amin dito yung pangalan ng customer mo. Nagkalat kasi ang mga tarantadong ALT recruiters dahil hindi nila binabayaran on time yung mga ALTs. I know of a few ALTs who were either not paid in full or their salaries were delayed by a few months they left as soon as they could. Its better to check for credibility first di ba.

how bout sa mie area meron po ba opening?
i taught part time sa aeon pero di ko nagustuhan kasi malayo sa place ko.
tama sabi ni firipinjin, dami ogag na ALT companies dito, so ki utsukete na lng po.
my sis is planning to apply nga pala benjun-san, she's into IT back home pero nahihirapan mag apply dito kasi di masyado marunong magnihongo pa. she has an MBA sa Ateneo if that would matter also. me, sayang pero never graduated in college kaya mahirap maghanap ng full time english teaching jobs.
anyway, salamat sa tulong mo na bigyan ng pagkakataon makapagturo ang pinoy ng kalabaw ingles!:D

Dear TF Friends,
Thanks to those who have already promptly e-mailed their resumes. Please don't forget to include your contact number (home or cellular phone) for quicker communication. I give details regarding the client and the general working arrangement to those who have registered their intent by sending their resumes.
Contracts with public schools, as with all other public agencies in Japan, are concluded after going through public bidding procedures. Qualified bidders are of course screened according to credibility and labor compliance criteria. Since this is done annually, I am sure dispatching companies that have outstanding or unresolved claims are sifted out. Our client company has won the most number of contracts among all qualified bidders.
I assure you that you won't lose a yen by trying.

Hello benjun! I have previously emailed my Resume/CV to unijobs for a possible teaching position there. Is there a possibility that applicants who are presently residing in the Philippines but have a background in teaching kids in Japan, and also fluent in both English and Japanese be hired? You see, at present I am employed but still in search of a job with a better pay. I am a solo parent, and since my separation with my husband, my three kids were left with me. It's really hard to bear the burden of raising a family both as a mother and father. I hope you understand. May I please ask for your assistance for a possible teaching job there? I would greatly appreciate if you could introduce me to the employer. I hope I be given this chance. Thank you and more power. :)

HELLO PO!!! PWEDE PO BA AKO MAG APPLY?? tRAINEE PO ANG VISA KO...
According to the Immigration, it is not possible to convert a trainee visa into a working visa. If you are a graduate of a 4-year university degree, you are technically qualified to apply for a working visa. But you first have to exit Japan and ask the sponsoring company to apply for a working visa eligibility for you. Our client is looking for applicants who are already residing in Japan.

"But you first have to exit Japan and ask the sponsoring company to apply for a working visa eligibility for you."
I think this requirement no longer applies.
When the school I work for sponsored my visa and the immigration converted my visa from tourist to a working one, I just stayed here.
I read somewhere (www.gaijinpot.com ata), before, English teachers used to go to other neighboring countries of Japan while their visa is being processed, ngayon hindi na. Buti na lang dahil magastos.

Tourists who have working visa qualifications (i.e. 4-year university degree that suits the job they are applying for) can apply for working visa eligibility even by themselves, if a company gives them a naiteisho or an Intent to Hire (a provisional working contract), as well as other company documents needed for such an application.
If the certificate of eligibility comes out before the expiration of the tourist visa, they can go to the Immigration to apply for the working visa without making an exit.
However, trainees (kenshusei) fall under an entirely different category. They have a one-year visa that can be renewed for a maximum of three (3) years. After this period, they are expected to return to their home countries to apply what they have trained for.
You can verify this with the shuroshinsa bumon (working visa section) of the Tokyo Immigration at 03-5796-7111.

I understand your concern. You may send only the information that you think will not put your privacy on the line, such as the items that you have enumerated. The email address is
unijobs2006@yahoo.co m
It will take me only 3 hours to make the preliminary assessment, as well as check on availability of positions in your area.
You may then call me at 090-4547-5840 so I can give you the name of our client company as well as its website, e-mail to you the interview requirements and give you briefing on the interview.
For your information, fifteen Filipinos have already been hired in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Chiba and Ibaraki as of today, some of whom are already reporting for work or training next week. Congratulations!

Dear TF Friends,
We still have a few Assistant English Teaching (AET) positions to fill up in the following areas:
1) Kanagawa Pref--particularly in Yokosuka City
2) Chiba Pref--particularly in Narita City and Futtsu City
3) Tokyo--part-time positions in Arakawa-ku and Nerima-ku
Join the more than thirty Filipinos who have been hired by our client company all over Japan in the last two weeks, some of whom learned about this through TF.
Basic requirements are any four-year college diploma, valid visa (permanent, long-term resident, spouse of Japanese national, working visa; for holders of student and dependent visa, a Permit to Perform Activities other than Designated in one's Current Visa is needed), and in Futtsu City, a valid Japanese driver's license. Salary for full-time positions starts at YEN 200,000. Transportation allowance is subject to negotiation.
Teaching experience, especially in English, is a plus. Enthusiasm and a desire to grow as a teacher are a must.
Interested parties may send their resume to unijobs2006@yahoo.co m. You may also contact me directly at 090-4547-5840 anytime or at 028-858-3016 during working hours.

Hi Mikan,
I have no request for a teaching job position in Kagawa yet. Hiring for the first term of elementary and junior high is already over.
If the need arises, requests for teaching positions will likely be for the next term in September, and the notice will probably come during the summer break in July and August.
Just e-mail to me your resume.
Best regards!

Hi Silverkiwi,
The mimimum academic qualification for AET's is a college degree, education or otherwise. If you already have a working visa--and in your case it's probably an engineer's visa (技術)--you just have to append the additional information that you have graduate units in teaching.
The company may or may not request you to have it converted to humanities/international services (人文知識・国際教務)--which is a less restrictive procedure-- or instructor (教師)--which will require a certification that you have received instruction in or studied English for twelve years.
If you are a long-term resident, spouse or child of a Japanese national, or permanent resident, they will waive the visa conversion requirement.
Unfortunately, hiring season for the first term is already over. They may open new positions for the term starting in September. Just e-mail to me your resume.
Best regards!

why is the published monthly rate of interac(the supposed staffing agency) is on average at around 250000yen(see, gaijinpot.com) per month, while your company pays only 200,000 yen per month for every teaching position? is that because of the color of our skin:O ? or what?...no pun intended mate!

Interac is a big company bro. some companies even offer 180,000Yen/month. I guess, it depends on the company. pero let's wait for benjun's reply. :D

I am obviously not benjun but will try to explain what I know.
Interac has 3 companies under its umbrella: Interac, Maxceed, and Selti. They are very picky when signing up teachers with either Interac or Maxceed. Normally, they would choose candidates from native english speaking countries. As far as Selti is concerned, they would sign up anyone who speaks english fluently and is capable of teaching elementary and middle school students. If I am not mistaken, this is the pay range for each:
Interac = ¥250,000 per month gross plus actual transportation costs
Maxceed = ¥230,000 per month gross plus actual transportation costs
Selti = ¥200,000 per month gross with no transportation costs covered
Interac bids with the local education board for the contract to provide ALTs. But the contract with the teacher is either of the 3 companies under them.
My ¥0.2 yen.

thanks firipinjin for the info. at least i understood the system being implemented by interac.
