hello there ! i applied 2 yrs. ago na rin yata for tourist visa kasi plano namin magbakasyon sa L.A. that time with my jap. husband, nagbayad ako ng 100 dollars for application fee at naschedule din na pumunta sa U.S Embassy sa Tokyo.kaso nga lang nung time na yon 6 months pa lang ang visa ko at kakareceive ko lang, special visa pa nga kasi nagoverstay ako at kinasal at nabigyan ng visa dito sa japan.Nung pagapply ko hinihingi nila ang Old Passprt ko,wala akong masabi kundi i dont have an old passport.sabi nung AMerican Guy "they cant give me a visa coz my status here in Japan is not yet strong & the next time i would apply they would still ask for my old passport ".

Midnignt..As fas I know kaya nla hingingi ang old passport mo as of reference ng old travel history mo..

One point lang naman na dapat mo iprove sa US embasse eh yong hinde ka mag TNT sa US.. although alam naman natin na hinde mo gaagwin yon..they need a prove to satisfy na hinde ka nga tatakbo sa US like..me babalikan ka propert sa japan , me work ka dito , me asawa anak ka dto yong alam nla na babalik ka..

I think 3 years is enough para proof na mabgyan ka nila ng visa , just prove na legal ang marriage mo sa japanese , mas me chance pa kung me baby na kayo and of course enough show money pra maptunayan mo sa knila d ka mag tnt sa US..

good look on application.

Try it again and go personally sa U.S embassy sa Toranomon,Tokyo. Sa gate ay mayroong mga application papers humingi ka then fill up the papers and answer the questions honestly. Do not forget to ask for a return envelope . Then Ihulog mo sa drop box nila with your original passport and the payment for visa processing. After a week your passport will arrive to you with a visa if you are a succesfull candidate. This is what I did when I took my visa. They gave me just 3 months to stay in the U.S. I am not aware of the 10 or 8 years baka iba na nga ngayon. But try go there and do it yourself. If you can't , try what rain and the others said. Ask your travel agent to do it for you.Goodluck.:D

When did you apply for your visa?

As for the case of Midnight, yan talaga ang nangyayari pag merong "problematic history" ang isang applicant. Kaya kailangan maging maingat bago magpasyang maging overstay o gumawa ng irregular activity - because the past will always come back to haunt you. Mahirap basta't burahin yan.

Magandang gabi sa iyo RAIN. Okay iyang nangyari tungkol sa visa mo at ang haba pa. You are right na sa HIS ako bumili ng ticket for San Francisco,California but I did not ask them to work for my visa.I did it myself. But I was surprised when I arrived in San Francisco they put a new stamp in my visa extending it for another 8 months if I remember it well.BTY,how did you know na sa HIS ako bumili ng ticket?I went there personally.Where you there?

@ Good evening Pointblank, I took my visa if I'm not mistaken that was way back 1996 or 1997. Oo nga I think today they are so strict for security reasons. I just hope na 'yong mga kapwa nating Filipino na gustong magpunta sa U.S para mamasyal or anything sana makakuha rin sila ng visa. Thanks for quoting me:)

Ganyan din ang kaso ko. Nasa lumang passport ko yung US Visa ko na valid pa for 2 more years.

So I believe it's acceptable sa iba ding countries kung ang visa mo ay nasa old passport mo at, of course dala mo. Better kung naka-stapled na para sure. :)

Standard procedures na yata ang hanapin ang old passport pag nag aapply ka ng US visa. I extend my US visa pero hinanap din nila ang old passport ko na may US B1/B2 visa. I mean meron na akong US visa noon pa pero hinanap pa rin nila ang old passport ko.

I believe ang purpose nila kaya hinahanap nila ang old passport ay para malaman nila travel history mo. If ever you been to other countries, this procedure only happen sa palagay ko ay dahil sa 9/11.

Pero since your legally staying na dito with a Jap husband and financially stable na, madali ka ng makakakuha ng visa. If everything fails - tell the truth na dati kang nag runaway.

Sorry, midnight, OT 'to:

Hi tash :)

Sorry din ngayon lang ako nakapag-reply. Actually, your purpose will help you decide what places are nice to visit. It will also shape your itinerary. Though sometimes going to places you have very little knowledge of adds more excitement to the tour.

For me, Italy was the nicest place. First, since I am a Roman Catholic, I feel blessed to be able to visit Vatican City in Rome. I consider my trip there as a spiritual journey. Second, Italy is so rich in classic arts and ancient history. I recommend going to Florence, where many famous paintings and scupltures are displayed.

Third, it's the place where you can find almost all the original brand names for bags, shoes, clothes, etc. in one street. Don't forget to bring your credit card. And last but not the least, Italy is a romantic place. Go there with your love one and you will hear "violins playing ang angels singing" even if you feel dizzy due to severe jetlog.

Hope this helps. Happy trip. ;)

hello, share ko lang sayo for a Tourist visa when I applied before. Application can be online for convenience and security measures. First I pay the $100 ( in yen) visa fee in their affiliated bank, (keep the receipt) with my complete requirements then I filled up my US visa application and print out via computer online with their bar security code. After that I set my schedule online for my interview (print this scheduled paper too). then go to the day of your interview, pila ka na lang don.. I apply my visa and it took only a month for the whole procedure. Then they will send your passport by mail with the visa stamp already. Tip ko lang to take with you your old passports, your college ids, diploma, if theres any, for verification, kasi they did asked the same to me. Goodluck!

Here's the link on how to apply for a US tourist visa straight from the source: How to apply for a Non-immigrant US visa (http://tokyo.usembassy.gov/e/visa/tvisa-nivapply.html)
Don't think there would be a need for any questions.
Pretty straightforward and addresses most categories.
Perhaps someone from the base might be able to assist, IF you really need help.

Base should help you if your husband is leaving Japan...
I would ask your husband to see what they can do.
Used to see women get married at Clark Air Base then get a green card to US.

I need help!
Can anybody help me please......... I understand that I have to make an online appointment first, bago magbayad, tama ba ako?

Applicants pay the fee using the online appointment system. When making an appointment, the system will give you the option "Pay Fee" after you have chosen the date for your appointment. After clicking this button, you will have the option to pay by internet banking or to pay at any PayEasy ATM.

Salamat po sa magre-respond.:)

Hi, mamimo, thanks ulit sa link mo at sa wonderful people in this thread, marami akong nakuhang idea para sa interview ko. I was interviewed last Oct.11, and right then and there they told me that my application was approved and handed me a piece of paper stating the status of my application and my passport with the Visa on it was sent to our home today, I'm so excited!:yippee: We'll be flying by the end of this month.
Ito po ang mga tanong sa akin(I guess, it vary from case to case)......

1. What's the purpose of my visit?
2. Who is *****? (a colleague of my husband)
3. Which company does my husband work?

Hindi naman nila ako hiningan ng income statement ng asawa ko or any bank account, pero nag-prepare din ako just in case, then I just submitted all the requirements listed in their website.

@dijin_half

u can do the application for US visa on ur own, it will only cost u \10,000 (1万円). for the processing & everything. first thing u have to do is to visit their website, here is the link
http://japan.usembassy.gov/e/tvisa-main.html

u can only apply & have their application form through their website. u have to fill it up then print out to bring in the embassy of US in tokyo. u have to follow exactly the directions written in their site to complete all ur documents needed to bring w/ u during ur interview. so far wala kang ibang babayaran except for the amount of 1万円.

Hi, Bijin_half, sorry for the late reply. Sa tingin ko, as Docomo has stated case to case basis nga 'yan, basta kumpletuhin mo lang ang mga requirements na hihihingi nila. Ang visa fee varies, depending on the dollar-yen rate.

I hope this helps.:)

Hi bijin, Share ko lang sayo ginawa ko when i applied for a US visa. I just went to the travel agency to make some inquiries,.then sila na ang nag forward ng passport ko sa US embassy. They asked me to pay 10,000 yen for the visa and a bank certification na you have enough money to support your stay there. That's it and after a week binalik na nila yung passport ko with a US visa stamped on it ! Ganun ko kadali nakuha yun with the help of my travel agent.
