Dear Teresa,
Please refer to my other thread for full-time English teachers for more details about qualifications.
Let me just reiterate that the request is for Filipino English teachers. The minimum qualification is a 4-year college degree and basic proficiency in English, as well as a valid visa (long-term, permanent, spouse of Japanese national, working, etc). Computer Science is OK. You will be teaching elementary, junior and high school students. The level of English expected of you to teach is really basic--from the alphabet, numbers, days of the week, names of animals, etc. In other words, parang kindergarten sa atin.
Please consider as well the location. If you live far from these places, are you willing to relocate?
Just try sending your resume for our consideration. Thanks!

Good post! Keep up the good work, Benjun! Matanong lang kung mag-process ng working visa ang school or company ninyo kung matanggap ang aplikante. Pwede ba raw mag-apply ang mga Temporary Tourist Visa Holders?

As I mentioned earlier, our company prefers Filipinos with valid visas (long-term, permanent, working, etc.). If the applicants are already holders of any of these visas but simply need to renew such visa (permanent visa holders, of course, are exempt from this), we can sponsor the person. Tourist visa holders are not our priority at the moment. We can accept dependent and student visa holders as long as they have the permit to perform activities other than designated in their visa (shikakugaikatsudoky okasho).

Dear Gemini,
Right now, my client is giving preference to Filipino applicants who are presently living in Japan.
The Japanese Immigration is giving new working visa applications under the category of "teacher" or kyoshi a tight screening--especially when the job description is "teaching English". They are not convinced that Filipino college graduates have complied with the 12-year education in the language one is teaching (in this case English) to confer them qualifications as English language teachers.
Ironically, the local Japananese boards of education are indifferent to this requirement, as long as one has a college degree and shows aptitude in the language and in teaching the language.
That is why my client prefers applicants who already have a valid visa to work in Japan.

Yes, we are still accepting applications. Most of the plum locations (Kanto area and big cities) already have many applicants but have not been completedly filled.
Please refer back to the early part of this thread as well as my other thread for the qualifications.
Two applicants from TF have already been accepted and signed their contracts. Congratulations!

Sa totoo lang po, kaya mga ganung visas ang prefered ng nagpost ng advertisment na ito, kasi naging strict bigla ang immigration about sa mga filipinos na nagaapply as english teachers. kahit saan sigurong ALT company sila magapply with a tourist visa eh mahihirapan sila because of the new policy. Ako nga kahit college student na ako dito sa japan ayaw parin nila ako sponsor eh. Nung una sabi ko ayaw nyo lang ako sponsor eh, tapos totoo pala ung about sa policy ng immigration. So wala talaga tayo magagawa about sa tourist visa applicants to be english teachers. Pero sa other fields, possible parin like IT, and others. God bless!!
