Thanks Chris, Abakitba, Dax.
Abakitba, yes, just Filipino books. I can buy other books here or in the US when I visit there.
English or Tagalog. My Spanish is just adios patria adorada and hasta la vista baybah.
Will try to look at the ebook Dax. I am not quite an online reader and my 4-yr old son normally snatches the pc from me. He likes to access Harry Potter site thru google search :D. I normally read in the train.

I went to amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=br_ss_hs/102-7897186-0496908?search-alias=aps&keywords=Pinoy) typed in books and Pinoy...
I'm sure you'll be able to type Philippine or Filipino.
Hope this helps when you're in
the country that has almost every nation represented.
Good luck.
I'd suggest F. Sionil Jose.

Look for books/articles by Carlos Bolusan :)
Will try to look at the ebook Dax. I am not quite an online reader and my 4-yr old son normally snatches the pc from me.It's no ordinary e-book, it's antique that is why it is only available for viewing online. ;) Probably one of the oldest (if not the oldest) book on the Philippines' geography, history and society. Sabi nga sa Preface (yung Preface lang ang bago - 1919) naging reference pa ito ni Rizal. :) One example is Rizal's open letter (http://rizalslifewritings.t ripod.com/Writings/Other/barrantes_tag_theate r.htm) to a certain Vicente Barrantes, a Spanish academician in Madrid which he wrote in La Solidaridad.
I believe we need to know more about our past, in order for us to find a better way into the future. Although only in electronic format, this book gives a lot of information about what the Philippines was like in the 16th to 19th centuries. Minsan may konting notes pa tungkol sa pre-Spanish period.

try jessica hagedorn's "dogeaters," or one of her latest such as, "dream jungle"- they are easy reading and profoundly written by one fil-am author, who is much more recognized abroad than in the philippines.
try nyo din po basahin ang "moments" series ni fr. gerry orbos, good for the soul especially with the Holy Week fast approaching.
at present im reading foreign paperbacks kasi wala sa maruzen:D , maganda ang the long goodbye by raymond chandler. im trying to finish dark lady by richard north patterson(hohumm!)
happy reading folks!

Salamat sa mga dagdag na responses. I will try to find some books of those authors. Tapos hiraman/palitan tayo. Mura na lang ngayong ang メール 便 sa yamato. Meron din yata ang post office package type for books na medyo mura. Will look at it when I return.

Jessica Zapfra's Womenagerie is random and funny and sarcastic. It's a good read!
