Hi Pochietochie & Brownman

Welcome to Timog! Hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

As for your job inquiry, there's one for a translator. Hindi siya masyadong mahirap at flexible hours. If you're interested, please PM me for the details.

Have fun in Timog!

Brownman, just a thought - if you are on a student visa - you aren't technically allowed to work unless they have changed the rules already...

@brownman
You may work for a limited number of hours, provided that you secure first a "Permission to engage in an activity other than that permitted by the status of residence previously granted" (資格外活動許可書). Moreover, there are some types of work that are not allowed even if you have this permit.

Here's what the Immigration Bureau has to say:If an foreign national stays in Japan with the residence of status "College Student" or "Pre-college Student," such foreign national may obtain a comprehensive permission to engage in unauthorized activities without restrictions on activities or locations. In this case, applicant must submit "supporting document" available from the educational institute to which the applicant enrolls. Read more about the permit at: http://www.immi-moj.go.jp/english/tetuduki/zairyuu/shikakugai.html

The same permit is also necessary for holders of other visa types which are not permitted to work (dependents et. al.). Take note, you may be fined up to 2 million yen if caught working without the said permit. Read: http://www.moj.go.jp/ENGLISH/information/lfpa-01.html

Nagmamalasakit lang. Let's know and follow the rules. :)

congratulations, brownman!

see you around!:)

hi brownman!

sorry to report but this particular job has already been filled. there's a new one that came up, but it's in yokohama, and it's only once a week, for like 3 to 4 hours tops. i know it doesn't sound much, and it is. this is only good for those who only translates for fun. you can't rely on this one for pocketmoney.

but, if you're still interested, i'll be posting the details in a separate thread.
the pay isn't that bad.

as for the sponsorship, no they don't do that kind of thing. that will be overlapping, them being a govt-sponsored office. it will defeat the purpose of why they're offering it to students in the first place.

additional income never hurts, but i'm sure your new job will be able to cover some, if not half, of your expenses while here. best of luck and enjoy your work!
