View Full Version : Nahihiwalay na letra
Hi nick & company,
I've noticed that sometimes letters contained in the same word are separated after we post. Ngayon ko lang naisipang i-report, pero matagal na din siguro ito napapansin ng iba. An example is the link in post #1 of: http://www.timog.com/forum/showthread.php?t=370 2
The words "chronicle" and "article" in the URL became "chroni cle" and "articl e", that is why some people were not able to see the link.
Another example is the above link I just posted. As you can see, the thread number "3702" has become "370 2" above. This problem is not caused by bad typing by the way. :hihi: Nahihiwalay lang talaga pagka-post. :O
Can this be corrected? I'd appreciate if you could look into this matter. Kung di maa-ayos, no problem with me. :)
Have a great weekend guys. :tiphat:

thanks dax, buti napost mo to. tagal ko na ring napapansin ito eh.
for my additional comment or error i find is, when i received mail from TF in japanese words, mojibake sya at di ko talaga mabasa. maybe the cause is the text conversion at the time the message was send to any recepient. i think di problema nong mail application ko kasi iyong ibang mail na natatanggap ko which also a japanese eh hindi nagmomojibake.
kindly take a look or double check your code if you have time.
thank you very much for all the moderators.:)

oh yes, napuna ko rin yan, actually yong e-mail address ko magkahiwalay, i try to fix pero ganon pa rin ang kinalabasan, pinabayaan ko na lang.
Thanks for posting Dax.
The software that runs this site has a feature that cuts long words automatically. This prevents the column widths from stretching when someone posts a very long word (like a link). This usually doesn't affect the link itself; the link still works even if a space is inserted in the middle of the linked word.
When you put a word in your post that looks like this: http://www.example.com, it automatically becomes a link, even if you don't put a link on it and it should be clickable and should take you to the webpage without any problem even if the word is cut in half.
An example is Dax's post above which contains a clickable link without errors.
I think the problem happens when the poster formats his post with FONT and other tags. Then the word won't be a link and will result in an error if copy-and-pasted on the URL box because the word is cut.
As for striver's garbled email messages, I think the cause may be that the default character set of Timog Forum is West European ISO and not Japanese (although it displays Japanese without any problem). I'll look into that further.
Thanks for all your comments.
