My Yahoo Messenger won't connect

After I've downloaded and installed my yahoo messenger, my YM won't connect....
Do you know any reason for this guys? Do I have to change the the connection preferences?
Does my firewall has anything to do with this?

if you still can't solve your problem, try meeboh (www.meeboh.com (http://www.meeboh.com)) instead.. you can use your YM account via this site...yun nga lang limited to chatting lang talaga....you can't use other commands available at YM....

a lot of thanks guys! by the way, I uninstalled yahoo toolbar and yahoo browser because this two applications make my internet connection slow. Any explanation for that guys?
