Meron ka bang link ng news or balita about dito ?

And even if gawin itong requirement ng Japan that I am sure it will not, malaking protesta ang mangyayari dahil parang itinuring ang lahat ng mga Filipino sa Japan na may mga criminal record.

maybe yong nagapply ng visa extension eh may atraso or may case na nakarecord sa japan immigration. if that is the case, the immigration are requesting for some supporting document that the applicant has no record in the present time. iyan ang mahirap pag may record ka na eh. nakatatak na sa iyo. at mahihirapan kang pagkatiwalaan agad. just my opinion. pero sa tingin ko walang nbi document na kailangan for visa application. sa atin necessary yon but not here in japan. just my opinion. :)

At kung totoo nga na hiningan siya ng NBI Clearance, mas nakakagulat  the thing that Japanese Immigration knows about the document and honors its validity. Parang panaginip ah :D
I found out that
you can get your NBI clearance or have it updated without going back dun sa Pilipinas.
I found this from the NBI-faq (http://www.nbi.gov.ph/faq.htm)refer to Q#6 & 7

Shocking info.
Yujin is right, NBI is not honored here. The Japanese gov't won't recognize its validity either.
I had just renewed my visa last month. They did not ask for any except for the usual required documents. Mas nakakatakot nga nung nagrenew ako kz I have a Japanese visa but I am not staying here in Japan. They might see in my passport that I am only staying in Japan for 28 days, and then go back again to the Phils..and return to Japan after 4 months and stay again for another 30 days and so on and so forth. Thanks God, nobody asked me why I have this kind of situation.
To Juy, don't worry. Goodluck.
A lawyer connected with our company says long-term residents who will renew their visas (maybe first-time long-term residence applicants too) need to get an NBI clearance from the Philippines. This is in Ibaraki and for long-term residents.

Oh really? Naliwanagan ako sa info mo Reon.
But why? Medyo nakakaconfuse lang kasi in the first place, long term-residents are staying in Japan of course, it is presume that they don't have any records in the Philippines, may it be criminal or what, since they are here nga in Japan di ba?
sa pag kaka-alam ko do dito about sa NBI clearance is yung lang atang mag a-apply for permanent recidency kasi nga sa nangyari noon sa hiroshima yung about sa peru jin na may permanent recidency na pumatay ng batang babae... na may record at pending na kaso sa peru about sa child abuse....thats why nag hihigpit sila ngayon sa mga nag a-apply ng permanent recidency... pero yan po ay usap usapan pa lang ng government nila ata hinde ko rin alam kung implemented na kasi... kung implemented na mag bibigay naman siguro yan sila ng anouncement about it.... for sure na lang din please call your nearest immigration office for information...kasi talagang hassle to sa lahat kung totoo....... yun lang po...

I have no idea.

dear joy,
curious lang din ako sa mga nabablitaan mo.i just receive 3yrs.visa this month but wala naman silang sinasabi na they need NBI clearance, kung ako sayo huwag kang maniniwala sa mga sabi sabi personally ikaw dapat ang pumunta dun sa IMMIGRATiON office or di kaya tumawag ka bago ka pumunta dun yun ang the best way na gawin mo.ako plain and safe ang ginawa ko call and ask for the requirements....

Well, maybe that's the best way to do Reon.Wait for the info from the Phil. Embassy.
Moreover, logical nga ung info ni Wes.Anyway, il contact now a friend in Phil.Embassy.I will ask him about this matter.

Hello fellow TF members,
Last month, some companies in Gifu areas having Filipino workers already received copies of the memo re- this issue to take effect on the 3rd day of this month. My sisters working in Sony, confirmed this news since this was discussed to them by their broker in an official meeting.
I also contacted the Filipina employee working in Nagoya Immigration Bureau (information section) this afternoon and she reconfirmed the need for NBI and police clearances for the 3rd and 4th generation Japanese descendants Filipinos who will apply for Visa extension. No problem for the 1st and 2nd gen descendants. For non-descendants, I believe the same rule applies. You may further verify this thru this number: 052-223-7336
For those whose Visa will expire this month or next month, she suggested to make a letter of appeal, expressing your desire to continue to work here in Japan but you cannot apply for an immediate a vaction leave for this purpose. She said, "Subokan lang baka ma-ireconsider ng Bureau and inyong application."
Meantime, we still have to wait for updates from other members, they might provide us of with some possitive insights or latest development on this perplexing issue.

i checked this matter to tokyo immigration homepage and this is what i found. check the link below.
http://www.moj.go.jp/NYUKAN/HOUREI/h07.html
bagong patakaran nga po ito, and the effectivity date is last April 29. so those who renew their visa before this date eh hindi naepektuhan. for those who will renew their visa, check the link above for the details. :)

http://www.moj.go.jp/NYUKAN/HOUREI/h07.html
--> Underage/minor and single na-totoong-anak-ng isang Nikkeijin
--> Asawa ng isang Nikkeijin
--> Underage/Minor and single na-totoong-anak-ng -asawa-ng isang Nikkeijin
Malinaw ba or lalong gumulo :D

2. Pagpasok ko dito last year thru working visa, nakuha ko din within one month after mag apply ang Alien card. Nakalagay dito sa card ang period of stay is until 2006Dec.13 lang po pero ang renewal nito is 2010Jan.01. Kailangan ko po ba mag apply para sa panibagong alien card or mag issue sila for new one?
Maraming salamat po in advance.

There is no need to get an NBI clearance para sa pag aaply ng permanent residency. (after 1 and a half month eh Thank God na aprubahan naman:) ).
