On September 1, 2005, the immigration bureau opened the "Shinjuku foreign resident Information Center" at Shinjuku Multicultural Plaza of Shinjuku Ward. The Center provides advices on entry and stay for foreign nationals. If you need assistance on immigration affairs, visit or call this new information center.
The center provides the following services:
* Procedures for inviting spouses or other relatives to Japan;
* Guidance on immigration procedures for inviting foreign workers to Japan;
* Guidance on acquiring/changing status of residence, extending stay period, acquiring permission for permanent residence, and other immigration procedures;
* Guidance on how to fill in necessary application forms;
* Guidance on entry and stay for foreign nationals.
* Guidance on alien registration procedures.
* This center provides almost the same services as the "Immigration Information Center" at Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau.
Office hours:
09:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday
(except for national holidays, and the 2nd and the 4th Wednesdays)
