hi guys,
i am new here... hope you could answer my inquiry...
here's my dilemma... my husband has been in japan
for 3 months now... and he wants me to be there
with him( so do i.. :>)...so he says he wants me to
enter japan as a tourist... then apply for a dependent
visa while i am there during the 3 months of my
stay as a temporary visitor?
is that possible? without the need of me going back
here in the Phil? thanks guys... your answers will really
help a lot...
oh, additional question... is it possible to get a job there?
i am a graduate of mass comm major in broadcasting?
what jobs await me there? got anything to suggest?
sorry for the numerous number of questions...
thanks again...
Wouldn't it be easier if you just apply for a dependent visa straightaway? You just need the certificate of eligibility from your husband, proof of marriage (marriage certificate), photocopies of your husband's passport and alien registration, etc. It doesn't take that long to get the visa (2-3 days normally) as long as you submit all requirements and there are no problems with them.
BTW, what's the visa status of your husband here? whether or not you can come here as a dependent would also depend on your husband's visa.
Here's the link to the requirements on the Japanese Embassy website if you have a COE: Visa Application Requirements (http://www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp/visa-english/others.htm)

tulad ng sinabi ni Paul super moderator, it is better to apply for a dependent visa straightaway.

you are qualified for an English Teacher position. check this link:http://www.philippinestoday .net/
in addition, habang nilalakad mo ang papers mo, ang if you have time, try to study the Japanese language too, if you plan to stay here for awhile. it will be very helpful.
Good Luck!;)

I am posting to dispel possible misconception about the developments in english teaching in Japan. While the efforts of Ben Tutor's company and that of his client Selti is highly commendable, such development is still confined to their own market - meaning this isn't a Japan-wide, governmental liberalization. Unfortunate for some, there are still employers with preference for natives. So, a filipino english teacher still has to get in Ben's company and they'll hook you up with their clients - at least thats how I read all these news..
I also agree with Paul, apply for a dependent visa if your husband's status allows it.

I agree with Paul. It would be wise to apply in the Philippines. Btw, is your husband locally employed here in Japan or sent by a company in the Philippines?
